The bigger drama is the parents acting like idiots and trying to break off and form some kind of super team next year.
Gotcha. Had to laugh after our last game of the year. 1st time the other school from our base league of 4 teams beat both our teams. They were yelling about a 3 peat of Super Bowl champs. Um no bc the last 3 years we haven't played each other since joining the bigger league. The past 3 years it's been School A team 1 vs School B team 1 and etc. The prior 2 years it's been split 1-1. This was the first year they went 2-0 which isn't saying much bc our teams were just awful in the talent standpoint. Before that we played round robin and they never beat us. I had my team in all 3 finals, beating their team 2x and losing to our school's other team the middle appearance. Youth sports are turning more to the bad side than good.
Still have a few years left unfortunately. Not to mention I started a flag league for the alma mater after another league wouldn't let them play anymore. I'm tired of a few opponents in multiple sports in 2 states lol. Let alone some parents on my teams.That's the downside of Stateline life.
Same school busting a nut about their "3 peat" must have got butt hurt after a team of mostly our kids destroyed their other teams. After my & our schools 3 peat, the HS head coach came to our board tackle meeting threatening to leave & join another league which happened. Yet he didn't know we were already invited but was hoping not to join. He also stopped playing us in Varsity week 1 a couple years back too. This after it was played 6 times and I believe went 4-2 or maybe we went 5-1. The last 2 losses were 42-7 or so. So back to another 30-40 years not playing us bc we are the little farm school beating the bigger city school. Yet we still wrestle them (by far their best sport) every year and usually lose. Thought for a moment when we beat them 2 years in a row in wrestling that they were going to cancel that too.
