Week 8 LOLses

I'm not talking about anyone else. I was calling out Michigan's schedule. If I posted the numbers Michigan's defense has put up -- you'd think I was joking.
I think our starting QB has only thrown a pass in the 4th quarter of one game.
Let us talk about Michigan's schedule for a second. I'm not saying this changes much, but some of the teams are better than people gave us credit for.

UNLV: 6-1 (their only loss is to Michigan and are bowl eligible for the first time in a decade).
Rutgers: 6-2 (bowl eligible for the first time in forever)

A few more wins and those teams might be ranked.

Not sure how legit. They've played some really bad P5 offenses. The best offense they've played (Penn St.) put 31 on them.

Penn St averages 39 PPG

Total Offense Iowa opponents

Iowa St: T-105th
Penn St: 60th (L 0-31)
Michigan St: 110th
Purdue: 78th
Wisconsin: 64th
Minnesota: 121st

Yet to play

Northwestern: 124th
Rutgers: 107th
Illinois: 81st
Nebraska: 105th
Damn! The overall schedule did look bad but that stat is bad. The opponent's offensive performances have been....."offensive".....or maybe "non offensive". One my try to justify poor offensive performance by saying those team's opponents had great defenses. I don't think that old dog will hunt though.

I'm assuming ISU and Nebbie are tied at 105 or it was a type.

Yes. That's T-105

Ultimately it’s no big deal. It’s a trivia series that they stole from YouTube. But absolutely hilarious that this got vetted in any way. The real image of Hitler on Spartys board is forever.
This is quite literally akin to asking a trivia question of where a founding member of the KKK is from with a picture at an mlb game right after Floyd OD’d, which I’m sure you’d be bothered by.

In 15 total games played, UNLV and Rutgers are a combined 0-3 vs. teams that are .500 or better. Neither of those teams are remotely close to being ranked. Rutgers will finish the year likely 1-3 at best, while UNLV is 2-3 at best. Just stop.

Sure. It’s a wild thing to do at a sporting event.

But Iowa's offense is so bad, Taylor is punting out of the endzone most of the time and those offenses are getting the ball at midfield. They are also normally having 3-play rest too.

I seems (don't know the stats on it) that most of Iowa's points comes after the opposing team starts their previous drive deep in their own territory and have plenty time to rest.
The Iowa TD drive was ~45 yards and over 30 of them came via penalty. The defensive PI was questionable (I highly doubt IA with an aggressive defense wants it continuously called that tight) and unsportsman like conduct where both sides were slightly breaking rules and should've let play out on what would've been a third down stop and it's likely ultra conservative Kirk kicks the FG (maybe, maybe not)

Iowa had a few others call go their way during the game

Having punt return nullified had to sting, but it was correct application of rule. It's also not first time this has happened. I wouldn't feel good if it was reverse situation, but it is correct ruling.

Iowa lost because they manged 2 yards in the second half, had total of 129 yards and three turnovers

MN out iowa'd iowa and Iowa out goofered the gophers

Let's not get crazy here. Go look at the list of teams the two you mentioned have played. UNLV's best win is what.........Vanderbilt? Rutgers best win is.............Michigan State? (who they had to come back from 18 points down to beat)

At this point in the season it seems like whatever happens in the Michigan Penn state game is irrelevant

I'm not sure how it could be irrelevant if Penn State were to win. I can't remember the crazy tie breakers though if each team were to win one. Something to do with the records of the teams they played on the other side of the conference, no?

Something like this, and one of the announcers said during the game that Penn State would have the one up if this happened.

So definitely not irrelevant. Penn State is a different beast in Happy Valley and will be Michigans toughest test by far

I hate that Ferentz will not put in the backup when the starting QB struggles. Deacon is a very talented player on a team with talentless receivers since losing TE1 and TE2. What has been exposed is he is not a great field general. He should have had Joe Labas in the 2nd half

I agree with you Gopher fans. That call did not cost Iowa the game, other than it did at that one moment The Deacon Hill fumble that led to a Minnesota FG was more costly. Iowa was first and goal on the first drive and held to a FG.

If those two things didn't happen, punt return wouldn't have happened to begin with.

It's a big deal to MSU. It will harm them financially and reputation.

Rutgers I think has a decent shot to beat Iowa & Maryland and finish 8-4, though they could also just as easily lose out, which will probably be the outcome.

I agree wholeheartedly. Trying to talk up Michigan's schedule as anything other than soft up to this point, would be like trying to say Ohio State has an elite offense like year's past.

Neither is true. Michigan's schedule has been as soft as Charmin and Ohio State's offense has struggled against both teams who had any type of talent on defense.

Not to kick Rutgers, as they are vastly better than in year's past, but they are still a bottom feeder. Iowa is a possibility, as they struggle to even get first down's. I think Maryland blows them out.

Oh yea they are a bottom feeder still im not gonna argue that.

Their chances of beating Iowa and Maryland are much better than previous years though. I don't think Maryland is as good as I thought they were a few weeks ago.

Bingo, or like saying michigan hasn't been cheating since 2021. None of that would be true.

You can only play who is on your schedule, but it is getting ridiculous. I'm sure with this schedule -- no one thought Nebraska and Michigan State would be dumpster fires. That being said -- I hope we have a game where we are tested before we played PSU and OSU.

yes... only 2 teams got votes for the top 25 this week...

btw.. expect to be banned from the CFP this year...

tickets to 30 games over the past 3 years for 11 B1G teams... video proof coming out...

meatchicken is screwed..............
