Michigan yanks Harbaugh's contract extension

he was actually spotted on the field after an Oregon game last week with Tony Tuioti who used to coach DL at Nebraska with frost and left Frost to go to Oregon. I'm sure he ends back up at oregon in some role.
I can't believe the guy didn't work out at Nebraska. I thought he was the best possible option for Nebraska.

Too bad the guy couldn't leave the old college ways behind him.

Things that aren't explicitly banned by NCAA rule are therefor legal. You can't cheat by doing something legal.
I appreciate your analysis as a member of the Bar with regards to the NCAA rules. This all brings me such joy.

Every coach has soap opera antics on the sidelines. Hell -- your coach carried it over to the post game interview after being ND. Saban has broken like 100 pairs of headphones slamming them on the ground. Screaming and yelling, throwing fits at the refs -- it is part of the job.

And the NFL stuff doesn't bother me at all. Only a handful of coaches in the world reach the pinnacle of the coaching profession. The fact Michigan has one of those coaches is great. The fact he has been out of the NFL for almost a decade and teams still reach out tells you how he is viewed as a coach.
Well, no, Day's comments had nothing to do with being dramatic. He was called out by name and responded accordingly after a massive road victory. I mean any given Saturday. Yes every coach gets angry, yells, celebrates, etc. I mean the petulant, falling on the ground, tantrum throwing that Harbaugh is known for.

Also, Day has obviously gotten NFL attention but has turned it down. If he was out interviewing every offseason and only coming back because it didn't work out for him that time, I wouldn't like the guy at all.

Show me where Harbaugh has fallen on the ground while he threw a tantrum.

No offense, but the world was laughing at Ryan Day after the ND game. Screaming Ohio vs. Everybody and trying to convince the world OSU is a physical team. How does that look after Louisville drubbed ND worse than OSU? And Duke almost beat ND too?

And the interest in Day is because of Justin Fields -- it is why he was rumored about the Bears job. While every time a job opens in the NFL -- Harbaugh's name is thrown around. That's what happens when you go 45-19-1 as a NFL coach.

And I can't blame the guy at all. CFB isn't the pinnacle of coaching. It is the minor leagues and the deck is stacked against the overwhelming majority of teams, so even mediocre coaches can look good in college if you are at the right school.
The NFL is the pinnacle of the coaching profession. It is also the closest thing you will get to a level playing field in football.

The theatrics are just gross. You're a grown man acting like a teenage girl.

No offense, but nobody at OSU cared if you laughed or not. In fact, "the world" was basically michigan fans, ND fans, and SEC fans who hate OSU. We got the win, and that old gasbag Holtz had to eat crow. Day nailed it. His players loved it, recruits loved it, fans loved it. The way ND looks recently, that win is looking really good right now. As usual, you're being overly dramatic about a situation.

I know you'll paint the Harbaugh/NFL stuff in the shiniest light you can, but we both know you hate it. It's also likely you're falling back to mediocrity after he leaves with the shit happening there. I'd personally be pissed if we were a has-been blueblood who had a former player come coach us when we were at such a low as a program, only to fall short of expectations and likely leave under a heavy veil of scrutiny.

I am.
Fucking Frost.

No "The World" is college football fans. You talk about acting like a teenage girl? That was his post game interview in a nut shell. The funniest part is -- Holtz didn't say anything that the rest of CFB says about Ohio State. What a shock that someone said Ohio State is soft and can't handle physical teams when that is EXACTLY who they have struggled against since Day took over.

And ND needed a late 4th quarter TD to beat Duke and got absolutely manhandled by Louisville. That victory looks way worse now than when it happened.

I said from the get -- doesn't bother me in the least bit if he goes to the NFL. That is the pinnacle of the coaching profession. His brother is there coaching in the NFL. He wants to win a super bowl. Go for it. I won't lose a wink of sleep.

As far as Michigan being a "has been blueblood" -- I'm wondering what that makes OSU, as the "has been" has curb stomped you two years in a row, putting up 90+ points and 1,000 yards of offense. I'm actually looking forward to adding to the 1,400+ days since OSU has beaten UM on the football field. Can't wait to hear your new excuses when we stomp you again this.

If Harbaugh leaves, as long as Day stays at OSU -- Michigan will be just fine. So please sign him to a nice long extension.

I hope UM wins it all this year.
I'm going to just enjoy playing OSU in Ann Arbor and will enjoy knocking them out of the CFP. :)

No chance OSU's gets a spot if they don't win the division or even play in the CCG.

Jim Harbaugh says Michigan football is like field corn instead of a house plant.

"House plants, they have their functions. They can be beautiful in the home. They can bring great beauty and value to a home. But the field corn: Just drop a seed in a crack of a sidewalk and it'll burrow down and come up with energy, then rise up in a stalk-like fashion and start producing."

Reporter: "Is it a head coach's responsibility to know everything that's going on in the program?"

Jim Harbaugh: "I think that that question probably answers itself. I mean, I was forthright with the statement right away. But you're asking -- yeah, but I'll just leave it at that."

I know this is going to destroy you, but far, far more of "the world" is laughing at michigan needing to cheat to be relevant the last 2 years. Like, far more.

ND had a stretch of 4 straight primetime ranked games, starting with a gut-wrenching loss to OSU. Duke with Riley Leonard is a top 10-15 team, so beating them on the road the week after losing to OSU was a great win. Ask FSU, who was losing to Duke with Riley being at like 50% and only took over once he went out. Thought you "knew ball" but you don't even know that. They looked past Louisville since they had the major showdown with USC the following week and thought they could sleepwalk through them since they were widely considered the easiest of the 4 ranked games. It happens. All I know is when we beat ND they were ranked 9th and they're currently 12th, so yeah, it's still a great win.

OSU is a current day, accomplished blueblood who has shown they can play with the elites. michigan has proven they are an above average program that only becomes competitive via cheating. I know this burns you up, but it's reality. We'll see what happens this year. You may pull out the win, but you won't be stomping us though. If Harb leaves, well, I hope you enjoyed the last couple years and cherish the memories.

I've posted here that would be my take, too. No one here remembers the Jan Kemp fiasco at UGA, but I was always one that said if we did that we deserve all that we got. Same with Harrick in basketball.
I promise that as long as I live, if the allegations are true (and maybe if they aren't) this will not be forgotten.

It is so funny to see you not only have excuses for OSU, but also excuses for teams OSU struggles with when they get manhandled by a lesser team (Louisville) and struggle with a basketball school (Duke). :pound:

My question for you is -- Stalion won't be there this year. What will your excuse be when Michigan does the exact same thing to OSU they have done the last two years? I can't wait to hear it.

I do love all of the internet lawyers thinking this is some sort of court case.

The NCAA can do whatever they want.

"While this may not be a technical violation of the rule, it certainly is a violation of the spirit of the rule. It subverts the ideal of fair competition that the NCAA has always striven for."

you two single handedly make it easier for the board to root for OSU as mentioned several times now. And that is an impressive achievement.

Don't put me in MnB group. I think Michigan should be punished and what Stalions did not only ignorant, but was illegal. If Harbaugh knew about it, he should absolutely be fired.

That being said -- ATF has excuses for EVERYTHING for OSU. Truth of the matter is -- the sign stealing had little to nothing to do with anything Michigan has done the last two years. Teams steal signs weekly. Teams change signs weekly. UM beat OSU the last two years because OSU can't stop UM's offense. 1,000 yards of offense over the last two years by UM against OSU is why we have won.

I just have fun listening to ATF come up with new excuses though.
