Sanders was asked about Colorado's struggle to protect Sheduer:

"The big picture, you got get new linemen. That's the picture and I'ma paint it perfectly" - Deion Sanders

Let's break down the stupidity of this response:

1. You just told the guys that protecting your son they don't have a job next year.
2. If he wants to get his son killed more than what is already happening this is the best way to do it.
3. Good offensive linemen have mega opportunities in the portal and they aren't cheap.
4. Recruits have to be starting to get nervous about playing for Deion because of comments like this.

To be honest the O-line is just part of the problem:

1. I don't know who is coaching the wide receivers but not one of them has a clue what to do once the QB starts scrambling and more times than not they just stop at their route instead of coming back to help.
2. Their focus on the passing game (to boost Sheduer's numbers) and lack of ability to run the ball have made them one-dimensional and quality coaches like Chip Kelly drool when they see that on tape. UCLA linemen just pinned their ears down and went after the QB every play because there was no other threat.
3. Sander's hired probably one of the worst DCs in division 1 football in Charles Kelly. Jimbo couldn't dump him fast enough and didn't even think about bringing him to aTm.

The fault lines are becoming valleys in Colorado.

Also, these are more or less his guys. He chose them to replace CO’s prior OL, some of whom are starting elsewhere so the talent problem wasn’t necessarily on the OL last year.

So your hand picked guys are getting tossed aside. Who the hell would want to commit to a coach like that.

He has handled this way too heavy-handed and he poorly evaluated the talent and underestimated what it would take to build a team from scratch.

Auburn has been trying to plug holes in an O-line through the portal for 7 years and its hard to do for a couple of positions. I would be shocked if his entire O-line didn't enter the portal and he was starting from scratch. You can't build an O-line that way not even Nick Saban can do that.

You first need a culture and an identity. And you have to really recruit OL in units because that’s how they function. Hell, ND tried to plug and play Cain Madden on the OL a couple of years ago and he got his ass handed to him. (All American at Marshall, bust at ND).

Imagine that ... replacing 65 players doesn't work. Throwing your team under the bus doesn't work. Who could have seen this coming?

I wouldn't say what he has done hasn't worked.

1. Colorado's winning total has grown 300%
2. He has sold out every home game
3. The fans are more excited than they have been in over a decade
4. Merchandise is flying off the shelf
5. He has gotten off-the-chart ratings and exposure for the school
6. He had a legit shot at a bowl game and just fell short

He has been successful but he can undo everything he has done very quickly by making stupid comments like he just did. His plan wasn't awful but the execution needs refinement sprinkled with a little humility.

which cu linemen deion gave the boot to, got picked up by other P5 programs and are starting?

BTW this is just a bad move.. players can leap in offseason development with the right staffs. Deion will learn the hard way that legit OL and DL don't grow on trees... and it's rare that you have enough of those players in the portal

1-4 after starting 3-0.

LOL.

Now I have to laugh at this. I don’t know a coach that won’t tell a player his job is in jeopardy if they don’t play well.

Now whether or not they block now is a good question. Depends on that player coach relationship

None of that means shit to me. Sure, CU is loving the sell outs, the attention, etc. How long will that last? Until he leaves. Those aren't CU accomplishments, those are Deon accomplishments that are basically a train wreck waiting to happen, and people like watching a train wreck. Once he is gone, CU will go back to where they were, and the train wreck will happen somewhere else.

To the actual point of my post, nothing you said changes that ... you can't build a winning program doing what he is doing, IMO.

All hat and no cattle. There isn’t much evidence that the team couldn’t have gone from 1 win to 4 without Deon.

I believe one is at FSU, one at Purdue and another at UCLA but is injured.

Rough week. Decisive loss to UCLA and a buncha players got their jewelry stolen outta the locker room.

I watched a video related to a breakdown of the Colorado spring game. The "guy" said that the O-line looked small in relation to other programs. They will not be able to keep up and block on a consistent basis. So, the season starts, and the wins happen. I watched a good bit of all the games in the beginning. I saw the wins and thought that they might be okay after all. Watching the games being broken down after the games happened, I learned that Sanders has been hit, QB rushed, and sacked more than any other QB. Many are shocked that the dude isn't laid up somewhere with broken bones and damaged organs. Now, these offensive linemen are in college. They aren't dumb. They play in the damn games. They have to know that they could be replaced if their QB is getting buried in most of the games. That goes without Coach Prime saying it... or at least it should.

6’ 7” LT and 6’ 8” RT

we’re talking big enough to be on Tom Brady’s OL

No way you replace all those players and everyone of them works out.
It's his way.

“it’s the OL!” - piece of shit coach who ran his damn mouth and took all the credit for the shitty wins

Who’s next? My guess is the fans.
