Who's the most overrated coach in CFB?

Overpaid, definitely Jimbo.

Overrated, probably Dabo.
I definitely agree on the Jimbo part. The fact he has A&M over a barrel as badly as he does on his buyout is unreal. Dabo is a good one for overrated, but I think I may go Lincoln Riley there. He beat up on the Big 12 when Texas was largely down, then went to the Pac12 and can't win anything. He's always choked in the playoff and can't figure out how to staff a competent defensive coaching staff to save his life.

Yeah Jimbo was the first “overpaid” imo. He had natty so there’s that. ( But so have several others that…. Nevermind). And he opened the floodgate for a lot of schools to what I lime to call “overpay on the come”.

Lincoln Riley and James Franklin have to at least get honorable mentions. Hard to argue against Jimbo though.

I think Franklin's done well at PSU and he's come close to breaking through a few times, but just can't seem to beat Michigan/OSU. IMO some of it's bad luck and some of that is on Franklin. PSU's had some pretty weak offensive playcalling in his tenure IMO. Look at the OSU game a few weeks ago where PSU kept running out of the shotgun and they kept getting stuffed. No deception, no Allar keeps or anything. No RPOs. And while PSU's short passing continued to be ineffective, they didn't really try any downfield shots. His offensive lines have generally been not good.

His defenses have been very good for the most part. It did it's job against OSU.

Leave Muleshoe alone, damn it. Dude is one of the greatest football coaches in the country. He's actually never won a National Championship at either Oklahoma or USC. Who else can claim that distinction?

2017 Win the conference and lose close in the playoff
2018 Win the conference and lose big in the playoff
2019 Win the conference and get the living shit beat out of us in the playoff
2020 Win the conference and not make the playoff
2021 Lose the conference and not make the playoff then quit
2022 Lose the conference and not make the playoff
2023 Lose 2 games by the middle of the season, his QB cries like a bitch and Oregon is next on the schedule.

My son went to Penn State and it's really the only B1G program I've watched the last 10 years.

Franklin has made way too many bad decisions in big games, made wrong starting player decisions, and had simply come up short of expectations there.

You can dismiss their expectations, but he has clearly came up well short of them.

You can't blame the play calling without blaming him as well. He's the HC. If your staff is fucking up, do something about it.

Riley, Fisher, sark.

Has to be Jimbo. That kinda money for those kinda results. Oh wait, I guess that does fall under "overpaid" Has he had a double digit number of wins since he arrived at College Station, especially with all these awesome recruits? That might fall under "overrated".
