11/14 CFP Rankings Thread 9pm ET ESPN

That big fella with the beard on the halftime show just spoke of one of my points. What if Alabama beats Georgia like 27-24 in double overtime in the SEC champs game? They both get in?
Depends what else happens

Uga would have difficulty getting in over any of the p5 champs

Yeah, I was gonna add that part about what other top 6 teams win or lose in the process. We don't have many games left to get this stuff sorted out.

I still expect an upset or two in the top 8, but yeah...time is running out

The team most in need of an upset is Texas.

It's all very stupid, part of the appeal of the set up of college football with a limited playoff, or BCS before it, or just crowning a champion based on different polls before that is sold as it makes every game count like a playoff. But we're so into this mindset now that how you look and how close games are matter more than the actual results that it's just stupid.

The answer should be if Alabama beats Georgia 27-24 Alabama goes to the playoff and Georgia doesn't, unless everyone else shits the bed, there's a scenario village where they should both go. But in general if other teams take care of their shit with the same or better record them missing if that happens shouldn't be at all controversial.

This kind of shit makes me think a 12 game playoff, which I used to be against, can't come soon enough, fuck the bowls and all the other tradition nonsense of college football, let's get a proper playoff going like every other recognized organized sport.

No

"Fought hard?" Really? You one of those guys that looks at what their ranking was at the time you played them? The fact is that Clemson is a 4 loss team that would get smoked by anyone in the top 10. LSU can score a lot of points against a team with no D, and they don't have a D. They would get drummed by anyone in the top 10. Those are two wins that aren't very good except by reputation of the teams they played.
you said Clemson would get smoked..yet they didn't get smoked vs FSU.. Udub had some struggles vs AZ and Stanford.. Oregon was in a knife fight with Texas Tech.. hell my Horns had a hairy time with TCU last week...

Yes I am a guy who looks what the teams were at that moment. LSU is ranked 14 or 15 now? that's a good win for Bama and FSU.. because apparently Oregon win vs Utah and Colorado are better than the wins Bama and UT have had

Next year you won't be in the worst P5 league and these things won't matter....for multiple reasons.

Texas may indeed be better than Oregone. However, Oregone would clobber them.

Sark factor.

He goes full fetal mode vs Oregone.
Maybe, but Dan Lanning hasn’t been good in tight games. Oregon wins comfortably or loses. That’s been their M.O.

That's because he's a dumbass and always makes the most aggressive high risk calls. But to 101stAB's point, Sark loses to Oregon, it's what he does.

It'd be a clash of two coaches actively trying to lose.

sure.. can we actually see it cause people said the same thing about TCU playing UM.. and we saw what happened

There have been multiple big comeback games in his tenure where Oregon came back to win close ones as well

So, I read some of y’all’s thoughts on late losses va early ones. Many of you SEC guys agree with the notion of late lossss being much worse than early ones.
So, I guess if UGA loses to TENN and then goes on to win the SEC, then Texas should get in the cfp over UGA, right?

Utah getting blown out

Texas should worry about looking impressive in their own games
