Congratulations to David Braun on his promotion from interim to permanent head coach of Northwestern.

Northwestern rewards coach David Braun for turnaround by removing 'interim' label

It is certainly a well deserved promotion.

From the article:
Northwestern has more wins than in the previous two seasons combined, after going 3-9 in 2021 and 1-11 last year, and is one away from bowl eligibility. The Wildcats face Purdue on Saturday.

The most surprising part of this…

I didn’t realize Iowa had scored 12 TDs in the last 2 years.

In all seriousness, sucks for that kid to end his season with a practice injury.
He’s exciting as hell to watch.

I will be honest. I was looking forward to him vs turnover stricken Nebraska. But i am also not as much worried as Iowa is deep in DBs, or at least their style of play allows them to be.

Underrated story. This is really awesome. I'm glad for those kids, there's actually signs of life with them again, and WAY ahead of schedule.

It's kinda what Northwestern does though, isn't it? Gets a good class of upperclassmen and has some respectable to good years followed by sucking for a couple or 3

To this point that was basically only ever under Fitz though. To lose him in such a scandalous way and then lose players, only to have this sort of year is pretty amazing.

Wasn't Braun around when all the hazing was going on too? Kinda funny how only one guy took the fall for that and they promoted another guy.

No... David Braun wasn't even hired by Northwestern as the DC until January 2023... this is well after the hazing incidents. Braun was DC at North Dakota State prior to January 2023.

Michigan State is supposedly ready to progress to round two of head coaching interviews...

Not all names progressing to round two have been leaked, but four of the leaked names include:

Jedd Fisch, Arizona
Mike Elko, Duke
Jonathan Smith, Oregon State
Jason Candle, Toledo

Spartans Illustrated - NEW: Four football coaches on their second round of interviews with MSU

Arizona football coach Jedd Fisch on report he interviewed for Michigan State job: 'False'

As you can see in the link above, Jedd Fisch of Arizona denies interviewing with Michigan State... so one must take these leaks with a grain of salt.

...continued...

Having coached on Jim Harbaugh's staff at Michigan several years ago, Jedd Fisch might one day be a candidate for the Wolverines job if Harbaugh leaves Michigan for whatever reason.

The West plays Bizzaro ball. Lowest scoring team(all games) won the division and the highest scoring team is in last place.

Iowa has scored 10 offensive TDs in their 8 league games

And they won the division by multiple games

It all checks out

Glad the Buckeyes traversed the preseason unscathed.

Things get real this week.

Go Bucks. Beat the Cheatarines. "Cheaters and Victims."
