That was pre Big12 member tho, he was tough in the recent Big12 and UH wants to win more than ever now that they are finally in a big boy (albeit lesser than the big 2) conference.

No doubt Briles can recruit and coach...or could. And NIL and transfer portal would be right up his alley as long as player character isn't an issue with the university.

And he knows Texas high schools but he burned a lot of bridges with many coaches. He's not as beloved with them as Traylor and McGuire.
