Thanksgiving was great. All the grandkids were there with the older girls bringing their boyfriends and the oldest grandson brought his fiancé. Starting Friday, it all went to shit. Wife has been sick since then and I started yesterday. 40 miles of bad road.

Have an appointment to put Ol' Jake down. We had a helluva run, pup.

Morning. MiL has been in the hospital since Thursday afternoon with an infected gallbladder. They're waiting to determine what form of antibiotics she needs to continue treating the infection to decide whether she gets released. She'll probably need it removed, too.

They haven't yet determined the cause of her neurological issues (she had a fall a year and a half ago and has been using walkers, canes, and wheelchairs a lot since then).

Yesterday looked like her best day in the hospital. She was alert, engaged in the conversation, and beginning to eat solids. She actually had her head off the pillow, too.

my pup just turned 10 and I really do worry about the day when I will have to make a decision like that.
 
morning folks

I had an up and down holiday. Got some kind of stomach bug last week and it just wouldn't go away. Woke up at like 2 am after thanksgiving just feeling my stomach gurgling and promptly blew up my gf's cousin's bathroom.

finally started feeling better on Saturday...but it kicked my ass whatever it is I had.

but the holiday was nice....was up in the Hamptons with the gf's family and met the extended family. There is some weird drama there.

great Eagles game last night. Glad I was watching from the comfort of a barstool and not at the game in Philly like I originally planned

Went to gopher badger game saturday, gophers looked like gopher team they have all season, so bad. Lost. I drank way too much, lost a glove and took wrong turn going to bar after the game. Decided to drive home really fast to reduce time on road (I kid, i took public transport and an uber)

Thurs-49ers over Seattle; Friday-HS alma mater state runner up for 3rd year in a row; Saturday Grand's last basketball practice & Michigan over osu; Sunday wrestling with both clubs. Grand got 2nd & Buck & cousin's boy struggled.
 
Saturday night got into a heated discussion with some badger fans post game about putting soda into an old fashion

Damn man,that is tough.......cant imagine the ride to the vet.

Kind of ironic there. Badger fans would argue about how the forward pass is contributing to the downfall of society. Then a drunk Iowa fan would stumble in and counter that facemasks are the real devil

Badger fans were subdued a little this year, they're usually much bigger assholes, almost eagles-esque

I did have one badger randomly get in my face and start talking shit for no apparent reason. I was just minding my own business getting a burger and he felt the need to get in my face and gloat about something neither of us have any control over

I think about it whenever I see an older dog, but at some point it becomes "am I being selfish" when you are making that decision...the dog isn't going to tell you its life sucks
