Be Honest About Your Team Here (College Edition)

We just saw Bama need a literal miracle against an Auburn team coming off a total blowout loss to New Mexico St. There's 0 reason Georgia should lose to them.
You haven't followed SEC football for long. Bama is still Bama. We will get their A game. We ain't playing in that fucking Voodoo stadium on the Plains. You can glean nothing from the game this last weekend.

I think we win, but if you think anyone at UGA thinks this is a for sure win, you are nuts.

I expect to beat Alabama, but you always discount any voodoo that happens at Jordan-Hare.

I don't care what happens from this point on. I got what I needed out of this season lol. This is all bonus time. I'd like to make the national title game.
Amen and hallelujah!

will Daniels play?
Hell yeah! He gun light em up!

excited the waterboy GIF

They were beat by New Mexico St. on the plains by 21 points. Auburn is an absolute garbage team. I'm aware that you will get Alabama's best, but you can't spout off about "we're B2B champs and have won x amount of games in a row" if you can't beat this Bama team. They are talented but overall are a solid team who is very, very lucky not to have another 3-4 losses this year.

In hindsight, Mordecai was a G5 quarterback on a P5 world. The defense couldn't seem to get timely stops. Surprisingly, they still allowed less than 19 PPG.

7-5. seems about right. I'd say next year they will be a better team but be lucky to get 8 wins.

I expect to beat Bama by multiple scores. The Auburn game has zero to do with why I think that though.

I mean we agree ... the B2B champs, 29-0, etc., won't get us in this year with a loss. I clearly stated that.

My point to you is that if you think that anything about the Iron Bowl is an indicator of what the SECCG is going to be about, you just don't understand SEC football. If you think that the Iron Bowl means that Bama is not very good, or that Bama couldn't beat anyone in front of them, you are just wrong. The Iron Bowl is the most fucked up game ever. More voodoo shit happens in that game than in any other game. The shittiest of the two teams has often won that game ruining the season of the other.

I have been the one advocating for the 12-team CFP longer than anyone else here. I want things decided on the field. I want the SEC to have to win it on the field, and I want the non-SEC teams to quit whining about the SEC-bias (not pointing at you specifically). The 12 team CFP will let teams like Bama, ore/UW, and/or Texas, teams that may well get left out this year, talk on the field and not in the media or on sports boards.

If the miraculous last-second win against a hapless Auburn team doesn't make you think that, which game does? The 3-point home win over 4-8 Arkansas? The pathetic narrow win over South Florida? The 6-point win vs. an A&M team that had no idea what they were doing all season and willingly bled $75m just to fire their coach?

A combination of all of them, but Auburn always gives Bama and UGA all they can handle at home. They gave UGA their closest game of the season too(to be fair a garbage time score made it that way, but still)

Their body of work makes me think UGA should win handily, but I’m not gonna knock Bama for escaping Jordan-Hare with a win

Oh stop acting like close rivalry games only happen in the SEC. If Ohio State went to Wisconsin a week after they were slaughtered by a mid-major the way Auburn was, only to need a last second desperation hail mary to eek out a win, every poster on this board would be shitting all over them in regards to stacking them up against the #1 team in the nation - as they should be.

Auburn is ass this year but it was completely predictable people would make all kinds of excuses for Bama there. There's no excuse for that game being close.

That's like if we needed a prayer to beat Michigan in the Rich Rod era.

To be fair, Nick Saban has earned the benefit of the doubt. Your HC is Cryin’ Day

I genuinely cannot name a single player on New Mexico State. Do they even have any 3* kids on that team? Not only did they go into Auburn and beat them, they thoroughly dominated them. I mean, Bama was letting Payton Thorne make big plays against them, and that dude wasn't even good enough to keep his starting job at Michigan State. Spare me the "voodoo" BS, They've lost 10 games at home over the last 3 years.

You are overreacting. I never said this only happened in the SEC. I am sure other conferences have voodoo-type games.

I am simply telling you that if you are looking at the Iron Bowl and trying to figure out how a team could lose to NMSU one week, and then almost beat Bama the next week, you don't follow that game. And that means it means nothing when you look at the Bama v. UGA matchup this weekend. Saying, "oh, Bama was almost beaten by Auburn who got beat by NMSU, so UGA should kill them" is about as dumb a statement as someone can make.

You are taking this like I am insulting you or something. I am not. From someone who has followed SEC football for close to 60 years, that game is the one of all games that can go either way no matter how good or bad the teams are.

Should we beat Bama? Yes, we should. Because we are better than them at almost every phase of the game. What happened in JH Saturday means nothing.

I'll agree that it means absolutely nothing when it comes to the UGA vs Bama game

But the always benefit of the doubt and excuses people give SEC teams for struggles against bad teams compared to how they react when it's teams from other conferences is hilarious.

They’re a 10 win G5 with a good, experienced HC in Jerry Kill. Auburn looked completely past NMST and put everything they had on the table against Bama, then combine that with sloppy play by Bama and you get what you got.

If you’re not gonna even acknowledge I’ve said numerous times I expect to beat Bama handily, you’re being dishonest at best
