Direct Pay to Players

NCAA is a business that has convinced everyone they are all about the "student athlete". They have made billions off of kids, just end it already.
 
Ruining CFB. Either way, no matter what happens, there needs to be a cap.

Also depending on how this money is funneled and what's done with NIL, it's going to crush a lot of sports programs at smaller schools, football and many others.
 
If they are going to pay players then there needs to be a salary cap and the opportunities of transfers more restricted. What is threatening CFB right now is no salary cap and 100% free agency. No league can work like that without massive issues at some point.

The mega conferences would be fine with anything resembling organization.

The farce is attempting to keep the Troy States of the world on the same plane as Alabama. It's fucking stupid. It's like having the Edmonton Eskimos play the Eagles and tell Philly they should share with Edmonton.

Nah, there’s nothing that can make it fine. Need 5 major conferences of 12 teams each with 8 game conference schedules and a 2 P5 minimum every year for OOC schedules.

Kind of wish UGA would just join ND and go independent

Do you not see how silly it is to mandate OOC schedules against P5 schools when the SEC doesn't mandate 9 games?

The true course of action should be the top 80 or so breaking away and only playing each other. Sorry for your low budget football program bruh...not our job to prop it up.

First comes the salaries, then comes the union and then comes the strikes. You think it's bad when players skip their bowl games, just wait until they decide to strike for whatever reason(s) at the most inconvenient time. Let that happen a couple of times and watch the attendance and donations head for the cold dark ocean floor.

They are proposing forming a new division of large schools where this would go into effect so as not to kill the small schools. If the large schools start paying the players and movement is reasonably restricted NIL will mostly disappear and become more of what it was supposed to be where advertisers pay it, not school collectives (which is so much horseshit).

I'd say football and all D1 basketball fit the bill entirely, look how much money and how monetized the "Road to the Final Four" is. I'd say baseball and hockey are probably also ones where money talks, and track at some schools.

lol. Auburn fan's, whose school openly flaunted that they bought Cam Newton and the title he brought, being upset about paying players is funny to me. It's just as funny as the garden gnome in Tuscaloosa who rants and rails against it because it interferes with his patented system of buying players.
