FSU gets their day in court ...

Why would they do that?

Their leadership voted NOT to expand the playoff for 2023. If they wanna be mad, be mad at their own.

Makes me a little nauseous but if anyone has a real beef it’s Georgia. More deserving to be in the playoff right now than FSU imho.

K gotta puke now..
You think punishing a team for their Administrative Decisions is proper? You must be a Democrat.
I agree with you here.

If it truly was "the four best teams", Georgia would be in, SECCG loss or no.
Georgia still is "The" best team. Why play the season? The best teams don't always win.
he really wants UM vs FSU in a few weeks
Florida State should be #3 and Texas should be #4 ... I want to play Texas.

I just read about a rumor that'd be the greatest boss move of all time.

It said FSU is considering going to the bowl game, letting the team and players enjoy their week in South Beach, get the gifts and per diem from the bowl game. Warm up but then simply not take the field against Georgia.

The reasoning -- results on the field don't matter, so no point to play a game with no meaning and risk injuries. Let the committee decide who would have won the game.

By doing this it'd cost ESPN millions and millions of dollars in ad revenue and would make up for the millions they cost FSU by leaving them out of the CFP.

I would pay to see this happen!!!! I'd donate to any FSU page to help recover any money lost by doing this.
LOL ... that's what a 3rd grader throwing a tantrum would do. Adults in the room won't allow that. Hell, we have just as much of a reason to be pissed off and you don't see UGA fans and coaches and players whining non-stop. I am confident there are some adults at FSU who will move on and get the team ready. If not, it's going to be a long game with us and any narrative they think they have will be totally gone.

Based on what? Last year? The year before? The 31-23 win over GT?

Georgia lost to a team who needed a 4th and 31 miracle to a mediocre team to even be in the conversation for the CFP. I bring that game up instead of the drubbing Texas put on them in Tuscaloosa, as that was a while ago.

What exactly did Georgia do to be more deserving?
I haven't said much about GaTech and won't waste my time here. But if you know football ... things like coverage sets, formations, etc. ... go ahead and look at that game and tell me that UGA did anything other than treat it as a practice. With half our offense out.

Also, if we are going to start knocking down teams because of a bad game, what about FSU? That cuts against them even worse. Hell, they almost lost to BC and had a bunch of close calls. You gonna dock them for that?

Let's look at your own team ... look how many close games you lost. Shit, Maryland took you to the end. Maryland. Why are you in the CFP? Hell, of the 3 teams you are likely closer to 4th than 1st.

But, see, I haven't gone there and won't beyond this post. We didn't win against Bama, there are at least 6 deserving teams for 4 spots. For the first time ever, no. 1 dropped past 4. Never happened before, but there is nothing in the rules that says it can't happen. So, it is what it is, and we will be ready for the Orange Bowl.

The selection is, by rule, subjective. The committee had us subjectively 1 or 2 all year. We lost against the no. 4 team, Bama, by 3 points that was decided in the last minutes. Somehow that means we were now the 6th best team? Nah, that's not any more fair than deciding that FSU without their QB is not top 4. But, other than this post in response to your post you haven't seen me here whining and bitching and you won't. I've pointed out that it's a subjective set of rules, that is always fair because it can't be fair to everyone. We all agreed to play by those rules. On to the Orange Bowl and then next year when there are 12 teams.

this article nails it on the head on why they shouldn't just take the field

You cannot possibly believe you have ANY reason to be pissed off. You aren't in the playoff because........you LOST. Period.

What argument could Georgia possibly have? I'd love to hear it. Should Georgia be in over Texas? You know, the team who beat Bama by 2 scores. What about undefeated Washington and undefeated Michigan, both with way better wins than Georgia.

Nothing the CFP can do if they win their conference. You get an autobid.

It'd be amazing because ESPN is a SEC slappy and they will be selling ads for that game for millions and millions of dollars. Guess who will have to refund all that money if FSU decides they'd rather not risk injury in a meaningless game. They could even release a response asking the committee to discuss and let them know who won the game since results on the field don't matter.

ESPN would be completely screwed. That would be the best part of this. The game means absolutely nothing. If FSU beats Georgia, who cares. If Georgia beats FSU. Who cares.

But the chaos that'd ensue if they were to do this would be amazing😂
what about the fans going to the game -
they gonna screw them over too?

You lost to the #7 or #8 team, not the #4 team. They became the #4 team because they beat you, somehow jumping an undefeated conference champ who won double 2 scores in their CCG.

And the difference between Michigan, FSU, Washington and Georgia is -- they didn't lose a game.

The fact results on the field do not matter is crazy to me.

Why bother playing regular season games at all. Why don't the committee get together and decide who the top 4 teams are and not play any games. Just let those 4 teams play each other.

That is why FSU is the ONLY team who can be pissed right now. They didn't lose to anyone, they schedule tough SEC OOC games and smacked both of them, one on the road with a backup QB.

Hell. Ohio State has more of argument to be included than Georgia does. They had one loss to the #1 team and actually played a good OOC schedule. Georgia has no reason to be mad. They are out because of themselves.

what about the fans going to the game -

F the fans. Who wastes money going to meaningless bowl games anyways? The only games worth going to, or he'll, even watching are the CFP.

The rest are simply money grabs

I've always said if you lose a game you have no right to complain about being "left out" you didn't take care of business and put it in the hands of voters, computers, a committee, whatever for the given era. Nobodies fault but your own.

You pointing to a tough OOC schedule is ironic, isn’t it? You’re gonna get destroyed by Alabama I’m gonna laugh my ass off. And then next year we all get to prove it on the field in the CFP. Can’t wait.

That's the entire point.

There is no "criteria" to making the CFP.

It's just subjective. "Who are the best four teams? What makes them the best four teams? Who is more deserving? Does more deserving mean best team?"

Like it or not, the NFL Playoffs will always be > the CFP because nothing about opinion matters in the NFL. Play on the field 100% determines who makes it to the playoffs. If a team was better on paper but didn't get the job done on Sunday, they don't go.

The CFP needs to be renamed the CFI.

College Football Invitational.

Because that's what it is. A four-team tournament where the participants are invited by a committee to play in it.

You can be pissed you lost to Bama. But once you lost to Bama and Texas won. You weren't getting in, as Texas beat Bama AT BAMA, so you aren't getting in over Texas. You just lost to Bama, so you aren't getting in over Bama.

What LEGIT argument could you possibly make?

F the fans. Who wastes money going to meaningless bowl games anyways? The only games worth going to, or he'll, even watching are the CFP.

100s of 1000s of fans go to the "meaningless" bowl games -
and several million watch and enjoy these bowls -

No team left out is 'more deserving' than FSU. Subjectively you can argue Georgia, but definitely not more deserving.

Play a tough OOC schedule. Check for FSU, not Georgia.

Win your conference championship game. Check for FSU, not Georgia

Finish the year undefeated. Check for FSU, not Georgia.

So what would make Georgia 'more deserving'?
You haven’t been paying attention. Georgia is IN the SEC. FSU is NOT IN the SEC.

We didn't lose. If Georgia didn't lose. It wouldn't matter you played nobody OOC this year. You did though. And the team lost to, they lost to the other 1 loss team.

So AGAIN Georgia has ZERO reasons to be upset. None. Who would they deserve to be in over?

You haven’t been paying attention. Georgia is IN the SEC. FSU is NOT IN the SEC.
That's why I laugh. FSU played LSU and Florida in OOC. Beat them both. The ACC as a whole was 6-4 against the SEC.

But they still use that logic.

I'm waiting for Georgia fans to say they belong in over Texas next. Even though Texas drubbed their conference champ by two scores on the road.

I mean to be fair, not all CCG opponents are created equal. UGA probably woulda wiped the field with Okie State as well.

But regardless UGA still lost though so that point is meaningless. At some point results have to matter.

Agree wholeheartedly. It is why I said -- why bother playing the regular season games or scheduling tough OOC. They just told FSU, it doesn't matter.

I hope FSU goes thru with it. It will be more entertaining to watch them do that than the exhibition game where the teams will look nothing like the regular season, as the game means nothing and any draft picks will sit out.

One last time, I told you that I’ve not been on here, whining and complaining, because I’m not overly pissed off. I am making the point that I, and there are certainly plenty of national reporters, who have pointed out that we can also make the argument that we got screwed by the system.

For example, no number one team has ever lost, and still not gotten into the playoffs. There’s no rule that says that must happen. But there also is no rule that says going undefeated means that you get in the playoff. It’s a subjective evaluation, and if you look at Vegas, if you read national reporters, we would be favored against anybody that is currently in the playoffs with the possible exception of Michigan. So when the subjective decisions are made, it clearly could have been said like it has in the past that the number one team losing in the conference championship doesn’t drop out of the playoff. It didn’t happen this year because there’s lots of teams that have an argument for being in the force slot. Again, as I have said, clearly, it’s a problem of a flawed system where you have four slots, five conferences, and the possibility that there are more than four deserving teams.

The final thing I will say is that I’m laughing my ass off at your team in the video where they found out they’re playing Alabama instead of FSU. There was a collective groan throughout the room. That was hilarious and it will be played over and over again by Alabama Indicating you guys are scared to play Alabama and FSU. I guarantee you guys would’ve much preferred to play FSU than UGA.
