FSU gets their day in court ...

One last time, I told you that I’ve not been on here, whining and complaining, because I’m not overly pissed off. I am making the point that I, and there are certainly plenty of national reporters, who have pointed out that we can also make the argument that we got screwed by the system.

For example, no number one team has ever lost, and still not gotten into the playoffs. There’s no rule that says that must happen. But there also is no rule that says going undefeated means that you get in the playoff. It’s a subjective evaluation, and if you look at Vegas, if you read national reporters, we would be favored against anybody that is currently in the playoffs with the possible exception of Michigan. So when the subjective decisions are made, it clearly could have been said like it has in the past that the number one team losing in the conference championship doesn’t drop out of the playoff. It didn’t happen this year because there’s lots of teams that have an argument for being in the force slot. Again, as I have said, clearly, it’s a problem of a flawed system where you have four slots, five conferences, and the possibility that there are more than four deserving teams.

The final thing I will say is that I’m laughing my ass off at your team in the video where they found out they’re playing Alabama instead of FSU. There was a collective groan throughout the room. That was hilarious and it will be played over and over again by Alabama Indicating you guys are scared to play Alabama and FSU. I guarantee you guys would’ve much preferred to play FSU than UGA.

If we went off of perception and bias it would basically be the same 4 teams in the playoff every year. At some point ACTUAL on field results have to matter. Not "well Vegas would have them favored!" bullshit.

I mean to be fair, not all CCG opponents are created equal. UGA probably woulda wiped the field with Okie State as well.

But regardless UGA still lost though so that point is meaningless. At some point results have to matter.
I agree. Not all CCGs are equal. But if you want to play for a national title -- don't lose your CCG to a team, whose only loss is to another 1 loss conference champion.

Georgia has no argument for being included in the CFP.

I totally agree with this.

Past success is not supposed to factor into the CFB committees decisions, that seems like a lot of peoples argument for why UGA shoulda still been in for some reason "THEY ARE THE 2 TIME DEFENDING CHAMPS!" who cares, it's a new year every year. You shouldn't be getting put into the playoff because you did well in prior seasons.

Alabama absolutely got in based off of past success benefit of the doubt.

If it was like Mississippi State or some shit like that FSU woulda been in over them.

I've seen no one saying Georgia has an argument to be in the CFP. Who would they have an argument to get in over?

Washington is undefeated and has not one, but two wins better than any Georgia has.

Michigan is undefeated and they have the Ohio State win which is better than any Georgia has.

Alabama?!?! They just beat you.

Texas?!?! They beat Alabama, at Alabama by two scores.

So which team is out in the argument of Georgia being in? And how would it be justified?

UGA didn’t deserve to be in. Neither did Bama.

If we’re talking 4 best teams, I’d take UGA against all 4 in the playoffs, including Bama, but that’s not how it should work. Results matter

Alabama got in because they are in the SEC. With the conference tie ins -- no chance they were going to put a CFP without a SEC team in it.

I think this is true for Bama, UGA, LSU and maybe Florida and Auburn would get that treatment as well. But the other SEC teams I think they woulda left out for FSU. There's no benefit to them sticking a Missouri, Miss State or Kentucky type team in there over FSU.

Bama was definitely getting in one way or another. Jordan Travis getting hurt gave the committee a easy out of just dropping FSU using that excuse instead of have to scramble to justify sticking Bama in over Texas, which is what woulda happened if Travis never got hurt.

Couldn't agree more. But this is a bad year to point that out, right? Results on the field matter for UGA, but they don't for FSU? As I have said repeatedly, I am at peace with not being in ... already have reservations to Miami. Looking forward to it. Looking forward to next year when the results on the field in the CFP will matter. This is the only thread where I have expressed this idea.

I don't really disagree with them leaving FSU out here. FSU without Travis is clearly quite a bit of a lesser team than they are with him. It sucks for the rest of the FSU team, I acknowledge that. But that injury was crippling to them. They probably woulda lost like 31-0 to Michigan with those backups playing QB.

Key injuries has always supposedly been a part of the committees criteria when examining teams.

We know one thing, UM certainly thought they had an easy road to the finals. LOL:

Did you see Dumbass Dave Portnoys "take" on this. Lmao

Only a retard could watch that and come to this conclusion, not shocking considering the source though. Guy should stick to shitty pizza reviews.

That guy is an absolutely genius. He started barstool as a free paper he passed out, grew it into a company he sold for $600 million, only to buy it back once Penn wanted to partner with ESPN for ONE DOLLAR.

Guy just bought a $40 million house.

He says some really stupid shit on social media, having money doesn't make him less of a tard when it comes to that.

100% correct. If it had been Texas or Oklahoma in 2014 instead of Baylor or TCU Ohio State wouldn’t have jumped them. They hid behind co champs, no ccg, blah, blah but the main reason wasn’t the 59-0 ccg it was THE Ohio State University. The committee didn’t have a good out this year since Bama, FSU and Ohio State are all “brand” names.

I am generally a fan of El Presidente ... getting back Barstool for a buck is the biggest throat punch ever. That said, his Michigan takes, including this one, are 100% trolling. Throughout the Stallions thing, he was trolling hard. He doesn't want Bama, and neither did the players. Sorry, but this is as honest a reaction as you could get. You can be sure if they had said "FSU" the place would have erupted with cheering. People say that Bama lives rent-free in our minds ... if that is true, we have good company with Um being right at the top.

Social Media is FILLED with people saying stupid shit. They say stupid shit because..................people will talk about them like you are, giving them free marketing.

The funniest is the Michigan fans who are appalled they have to play a actual capable team in the fucking Playoff. Any of them claiming they didn't want that freebie instead of Bama are fucking lying their ass off.
