Guy is incredibly average. Pretty lateral move at best for Wisconsin

They haven't had a QB throw for 20+ TDs in a season since 2017. Van Dyke has shown some real talent in the past, Wisconsin might have gotten a solid addition here.

This is who I feel like Wisconsin should've gone after.

McCall ain’t a commie. Zero chance he was going to Wisconsin

Van Dyke looked like he regressed this past year quite a bit. 19 TD/12 INT. Not good.

He did the last 2 years, but I also wonder how much of that is coaching. He was red hot before Cristobal got there. Might just need a change of scenery. I have to guess Wisconsin is far from done in the portal when it comes to offensive talent.

I think he'll be pretty good. The system Wisconsin runs is very similar to what Miami ran in 2021 when Van Dyke had a really good year. Gattis has always been a shit OC, so he was doomed from the start with him.

Good point about Gattis. They have a huge hole to fill with Braelon Allen leaving but if they can get some quality pieces around him, I think he'll be their best QB in some time.

He’d look great in Scarlet and Grey
I don't see where he'd fit in. Same age as Brown with way less experience in our offense, and I don't see where he's an improvement over Brown.

Yea he’d be nothing more than a lateral move.. We don’t need to be bringing in someone like that from the portal at QB. We either get a proven starter or a guy like Gebbia who doesn’t expect to ever start but is a nice veteran presence in the room.

Maalik needs to find a spot where he can compete as soon as he steps on campus.. He is a really good QB but he needs PT.. he'll continue having growing pains but after a full season as a starter under his belt, he should be nails.

wish him nothing but the best.. will always be a Longhorn

That’s wild to say he’s the same as Brown

Brown looked horrible this year and had no starts vs Malik who showed flashes of being good and won two games

Eye test alone shows he’s an upgrade over Brown

They were both in the same class, 2022.

Brown: 12/22, 197 yards, 9.1 YPA, 2 TD/1 INT, 150.7 QB Rating; 35 rushing yards, 1 TD (horrible)
Murphy: 40/71, 477 yards, 6.7 YPA, 3 TD/3 INT, 118.3 QB rating; -18 rushing yards (showed flashes)

Make it make sense.

Maalik can't run fwiw.. has a cannon.. went through growing pains on reading defenses though

Oh I know that. A good amount of OSU fans are familiar with him, we offered him out of HS. I just don't understand what he offers that our current group doesn't other than being bigger and blacker.

Maalik has a ways to go. He is looking for an instant starting job, but I am not sure he wouldn’t be better off sitting back and developing another year. He was 56% passes with 4 turnovers in 2 games
