Yes, you either bring something pot-luck style that you can eat and/or eat before you get there.
I realize you're talking about a kid, but whether someone has restrictions of their own, or they're accommodating restrictions for their kids, expecting others to accommodate you (or your kids) is, at least in my opinion, is, at best, annoying af.

Did I tell youse guise that I made S'mores cookies? It's a chocolate chip base with bits of graham crackers, chocolate chips and marshmallows. Sometimes the marshmallow leak out a little, making this crunchy little bit of toffee on an edge or two. So friggin' good.
