That is part of the assessment that has to be done. I'd also sincerely wish for him to stop acting like such a goober. We'd need that in the contract.

BV was a big part of their success but the main driver was having generational talents in Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence at QB. He hasn’t had a QB anywhere near as good since then.

They are not the richest fan base out there and that is a big check. Not to mention he hasn’t proven much to this point

I think it's slowly starting to come out that he was a flash in the pan who was gifted with an elite DC and two incredibly elite QBs, and now those days are gone. I was down in SC for business this fall and decided to jump over to check out campus on my way to Atlanta and damn, paying kids is the only way they're going there. Now that NIL exists, what does Clemson offer?

Yep BV was an incredible DC but having Watson and Lawrence was pivotal

I think Lanning is the best fit because any established coach will not want to come because of that shadow

lol they are gonna hit a huge payout starting this season with the new media payouts.. plus the aren't going to be paying the 13 or 15M a year now that sabans is retired

They also arent worried about paying off a coach they just shitcanned either. Maybe not the richest boosters, but that program isn’t hurting for money, they wouldn’t flinch at a $20 million buyout to get their guy.

Agree with that last point mostly. I don’t think Lanning would be their best option. But I also don’t see his buyout stopping them if they disagree.
