For the next several days, we're looking at highs in the 20s (lows in the teens) here in coastal New England. Finally getting COLD here... DAMMIT!!! :tsk:

At least the WIND is finally dying to being just "breezy"...

18 degrees now. Last day of the deep freeze here. Low temps above freezing next several days and high could be a blistering 50 by end of the week.

I remember when I learned about chains on tires. I was amazed.
It isn't like we got a ton of snow when I was growing up in Kentucky, but after learning about chains on tires, I could help but wonder why I'd never heard of it before. They seem to make sense in snow and ice whether one is in the mountains, or not. No, you can't drive very quickly, at all, but that isn't the worst thing.

Now they have plastic attachments claimed to be as good as chains. They aren't. They disintegrate after one or two uses, or once they hit dry pavement.

Got a really tempting job offer today being the shop foreman of a fab shop that’s owned by a friend of the family. Probably gonna have to turn it down because it would be a longer commute and I’ve got so much time invested in this industry and company, but being second in command at a place that doesn’t have a bunch of bullshit MSHA rules would be nice, but I’d also probably have to actually work there
