23-24 Portal boyz

That isn't what the suit is about. It's about the 1 time transfer rule. They have to allow the NCAA to have some rules around transferring. If for no other reason there is an academic calendar.
It says:
...are challenging the NCAA requirement that college athletes who transfer a second time among D1 schools wait 1 year before competing in games.

So they are suing to allow kids the same eligibility on a second transfer as they have now on a first.

I would suspect they will object to making them sit a year for a 3rd or 4th giving they too would still fall under the same holding them back from making whatever NIL choices they wish.

At some point it begins becomes an every year free agency.

well you'll have fun checking in on Bama message boards today.. they are spreading the word that UT is paying Bond $3M to come to Austin.. and they have a nice thread wondering how UT can fit their transfers on a roster.. there can't be any more room.. right?

and we are getting CBs today for their TE Niblack and a CB from Udub that they thought would follow Deboer (Muhammed)

Yeah, you are right. I misread your post, or mixed it up with some comments to the Tweet you posted. Some people are reading this to mean that they can transfer any time they want.

Solid post from Bama board....

Texas looks to be using Fast Cars, Cash, Fast Women to build their roster. In theory it sounds like a winning combination but keeping the players hungry and focused - and building a band of brothers, is just as important as talent.

18 or 19 years old with Lambos, strippers, escorts, and endless cash... what could possibly go wrong???

You can win the battle but lose the war.
You just described the old Miami… if you hd included blow.

jeez man.. Bama fans.. feel for you now.. So word is that KB pushed Sayin out the door at Bama.. Sayin and his family were willing to stick it out and see where things go but KB never showed much interest to him.. and wanted his QB to portal there (which he did officially yesterday)

Guess he wants everyone to know that this is his team, not Nick's

Yeah this one stings a bit. Getting Austin Mack and losing Sayin is not a trade off I am in favor of. We really needed another QB on our roster like we needed another hole in our head. I know the new coach is doing what he thinks best, but I would be trying to lessen the purge, not add to it by bringing in players we dont really need. We need OFL, Centers, kickers, DBS, and maybe a WR or two. Just a thought, go after those type players first.

yeah i don't get it.. you should make sayin a priority while still bringing the other QB in.. see what you have over the spring period at the very least.

Sort of agree with this thought line. Deboer needs to realize that the incoming class was stellar players and if he loses them(down a couple so far) that his cupboards are bare moving forward. His style has been to build via the portal for needs, but this team was built on solid recruiting and coaching up the players from there. He needs to play along before he tries to do his style.

Sadly, I was in his corner until the last day or so. Now I am starting to question what the hell is he doing to this team? He better win or he will be on a list of former Alabama coaches pretty damn fast.

Exactly. My first priority would have been to sit the team as a whole and talk with them and ask concerns from each player. I would then get my incoming class together and speak to each one individually and weigh their concerns, and gauge the interest in his style of ball. I would make each one feel like a major priority and speak to them often until this period is over and they cant leave until the next portal open date. I was excited to see what Sayin had as a player for us, now it will never be unless Saban steps in and tries to save the relationship.

seems like an SC vs tosu battle..

Tom Loy tweeted his CB would be in favor of tosu once he hits the portal officially or some shit
Evidently BoB was one of the key recruiters of him at Bama. It would be a wild move considering we already have a 5* in Air Noland, but I wouldn't be mad. Sayin looks like an unbelievably good prospect.

Let two 5 stars compete. Shit, Texas has Ewers and Manning. Not the same thing bc they are years apart but Bama and Georgia have done this for years and it worked out for them. With the new transfer portal rules, if someone doesn't start and they want to leave---fuck em.

I love Noland and have no doubt he can be a very good college QB, but yeah, I don't hate the competition.
