I dont think the niners become a majorly different team by losing one skill position.
Lineman & Qb might be different but one skill guy. They got plenty.

If they lose CMAC they are done
I’d rather have a game without CMC than one without Purdy. I’d take my chances that Deebo, Kittle, Aiyuk, etc can pick up the slack way before believing that Sam Darnold can effectively run this offense.
Maybe they just like the Counting Crows.

Purdy is a game manager largely hitting wide open receivers on short routes. I think darnold would be fine.
I don’t mind that he’s a game manager. That’s what good quarterbacks do. The rest of your comment just betrays your ignorance.
Regardless of your feelings about him, saying he only hits short routes is demonstrably and objectively false. He led the league in air yards per attempt, yards per attempt and yards per catch, among other things. And before you say something stupid about YAC, air yards per attempt doesn’t include that.
I’m not saying he’s an elite QB or that he would succeed in other systems, but he’s light years ahead of Sam Darnold.

If you watched him throughout the year, you would know he makes all the throws, including beyond 15 yds.

The guy has been one of the most efficient Qbs in the league this year. on all his passes.
Again if he was drafted in the top 5, everyone would be saying how great he is. Instead being picked last in the draft. Everyone is waiting for the other shoe to drop, so they can say see. told you he was a fraud. I think he is legit.
& no. I am not calling him elite either. But people can make a better argument for that vs. he is just lucky.

It’s because Purdy isn’t flashy. He doesn’t throw 80-yd bombs or turbo run zig zag through 6 defenders. The NFL overvalues the QB position so much that when someone is just efficient, he’s considered boring (see also Dak Prescott, Jared Goff, Baker Mayfield). The desire to have some phenom is based too much in hype and merchandise sales, and not building a winning team.

They were super bowl contenders with previous weak qbs in the same system. He does a good job for what is asked, but he'd be good for maybe three teams in the entire league.
