It's Wednesday and the Dodgers are world effing champions

He got the monkey off his back.....he didn't have to be perfect because the Dodgers have an offense....
I might agree with that if he'd never had great games in the postseason, but he has.

Maybe he got it sorted out, maybe he didn't. Personally, I hope you're right, but I'm not going to ignore 177 innings because of 11 innings. THAT is cherry picking, Deej.

So what have I missed this week. Think I've caught up enough for now to slack off a bit.

Because you can't be much more than lights out than Snell was last night. And then you bring in Anderson, a guy who has given up a run in each of his last 5 outings. 6 earned runs total. Again, over the course of a season, this probably works out because Anderson has been great during the season. But he hit a slump his last few games. A slump that analytics overall ignores.
I don't think it was ignored...but you need to be able to rely on those guys

regardless...they needed more than 1 run and they had opportunities.

I guess they were damned if they did, damned if they didn't when it came to that decision. If Snell had blown up then he would have been criticized for leaving him in too long.
This.

We had a trial.

@ill was ruled a douchebag and put on probation.

Double secret probation.

Some pretty shady shit from the dodgers/mlb.Not Astros shady, but any regular season game and Justin Turner would have been sitting out last night.

Apparently the test that they do before the game came back as inconclusive. Instead of redoing that test, they decided to do a new test which takes approximately 2 hours to get the result.

I don't know who made the decision to let him play. But I'm sure it couldn't happen without the go ahead from MLB.

Yep.

But it is completely ignoring it if you throw anderson right back out there and with a man on when you are only up by one. Bullpens are taxed at this point for sure, but you throw another guy out there or you keep the guy that has been nearly unhittable and only at around 80 pitches in still.

Like you and Duke aren't douchebags? That's rose colored glasses.....

The only loss was Hippie.

I agree, I think I would have left him in...but that is such a tight lead...

I don't envy Cash for having to pull him.

I gotta take the trash sometime today.....

I agree with you here.

In fact, given the fact that he's only pitched 80 regular season innings, I wouldn't even be counting on him to be "him" in such a high leverage situation. Particularly given what he'd done so far this postseason.

numbers i saw were

2nd: .307/.350/.627
3rd: .304/.304/.609

Either way, I don't neccessarily blame Cash for this, but more the organization. They push Cash to follow these rules to death. Analytics are a great thing in baseball and they play out during a full season typically. But one game, you can't strictly rely on them.
you realize those are the same numbers....right?

Coming from the tardest of the tard brigade, I view that as a compliment.
