I posted valuations that are created using a number of incredibly relevant factors, but of course your "trust me bro" figures are totally legit.

Just so we're clear - Saying McCord is not a good QB isn't an excuse, it's an objective fact. He was in perhaps the most pass-friendly offense in the nation and put up highly pedestrian numbers. Will Howard had weapons that would likely be walk-ons at OSU and put up numbers that were not far behind McCords. It's like seeing someone run 100 meters in track spikes narrowly beat out someone running in flip-flops. Howard is much larger, much more athletic, adds the element of a running threat, and also was at his best against the best teams KSU faced (Texas and Missouri). It's an extremely obvious reaction to think he will be better than McCord but you are not smart.

Remind me of what Edwards did against OSU last year.

Again, not a single thing I'm saying is an "excuse". I don't think you even know what that word means.

Last season, UCLA was 17th in the nation in rushing yards per game (198) with a 4.9 average YPC.

michigan was 54th in rushing yards per game (169) with a 4.5 average YPC.

Nope. Chip Kelly knows how to run RB/WR screens and run the QB. Which was fun in 2007 when good defenses didn't know how to stop it. Now they do, but it does make for some fun stats against bad teams.

When you look at rushing yards vs ranked opponents UCLA's rushing drops from 17th to 58th....Michigan's rushing jumps from 55th to 14th

Not really true if you watched them. They were a physical rushing team at ucla. His scheme was completely different at Oregon than UCLA. Dude is gonna pound the rock this year.

LOL that narrows down UCLA's entire season to one game vs Arizona where they had -20 rushing yards because of QB sacks, otherwise they had a 5.36 YPC average on 25 carries. Nice try though. I'm sure Chip will appreciate the massive upgrade in talent at OSU. Tell me, what will your reaction be when OSU wrecks michigan's defense with Chip Kelly calling plays this year?

Alright, I'll grab the bait on this one.

What good defenses did UCLA face in 2023? Utah? They were the only top 25 SP+ defensive unit they faced in 2023... and Utah held UCLA to 0.3 YPC (Michigan faced five units in the top 10 alone; Iowa, OSU, PSU, Nebraska and Alabama). I'll give them credit for rushing for 287 yards on 51 carries against Oregon State, though Oregon State had a few games where they were run all over. 114 yards on 3.9 YPC against Arizona. Cal held them to 70 yards on 36 carries. I do understand the B10 West "offenses" make some of those units look better than they were, but let's not act like the PAC-12 was chock full of elite offensive units either. Wash/USC/Oregon/Arizona were all top 10 SP+ units, but no one else even finished in the top 25. That 2023 UCLA team kinda reminds me of the 2017 Michigan team, good defense and functional running game but plagued by OL play/QB play (though I don't think Garbers was a bad QB, just couldn't stay upright)

Michigan's running game wasn't great this year (especially in comparison to 2021/22), and a good chunk of that was a lack of explosive run plays. Still effective at moving the ball and converting 3rd/4th downs.

For the record, I think Chip Kelly is a good hire. But now you also have to worry about any potential OD jinxes.

Justin Frye was at his best working for Chip Kelly, which definitely bodes well for us. Chip is going to have fun with Henderson and Judkins.

Chip Kelly will fit in at OSU, where beating bad teams but failing against good teams is the norm.

I'm not trying to make UCLA out to be some running game juggernaut, but given the type of talent they are able to get there, they did very well. Check the negative yards in the Utah (-51), Arizona (-20) and Cal (-36) due to sacks, those are skewing things quite a bit. I'm sure he'll be happier going to a large mobile QB with elite weapons to throw to at OSU as opposed to a true freshman with unspectacular ones.

Michigan is going to have another elite defense next year -- something Kelly has struggled doing anything against as a coach in college.

Not gonna argue with that, though I don't think Chip's rushing offense was a good fit for Dante Moore and he just did not look ready at all. If UCLA had a healthier Garbers that offense would have finished much better IMO. He at least showed some ability to run and wasn't a liability as a passer.

Next year's game will be interesting. I could see next year's Game be more of a smashmouth game

Moore definitely needed a fresh start. I hate to see what he's going to look like at Oregon in 2025 after sitting a year. He has so much potential. I also really like Garbers. Had OSU not gone after Will Howard, I would've loved to see Garbers transfer here with Chip. He's a smart QB who has improved each year, I would assume he's going to be transferring somewhere now that Chip is gone.
