Nebraska and B1G isn’t working

No, they can take IOWA with them.
No, they can take IOWA with them.
I laugh at the shortsightedness of schools that don’t have big expectations for their teams. The “Rest of the Conference” might have just sunk Ohio State or any B1G team’s chance at the playoffs this year.

“Nebraska has already tweaked their noses at the Big Ten earlier this year when they decided they wanted to go out and they were going to go rogue and just play because the Big Ten wasn’t going to play,” Patrick said. “This what I got yesterday. The presidents in the Big Ten agreed no non-conference games prior to the restart here. Ohio State and Michigan were for Nebraska playing because they know it could happen to them. They revisited this yesterday but no traction. Ohio State realizes that if they get a game canceled they still want to be able to schedule a game just so they have enough games to play in the final four. And Michigan is thinking the same way.

I honestly don't understand the hate towards Nebraska in this regard. We are literally only talking about PLAYING football. Forde calling it a "power trip" - fucking how? Most of this is about the lack of transparency from the conference. Their decisions don't make sense because they aren't explaining them to anyone. Forde talks about Nebraska being a cohesive member... meaning 'shut the fuck up and do what we allow you to'. I'm sorry, but fuck that pushover, sorry, pathetic ass, beta bullshit. Cohesive member? Two way street bud, I don't see Warren coming out and defending Nebraska from shit like this.

On one hand, Finebaum criticizes the B1G for how it went about it and not allowing makeup games.... then the next day he slams Nebraska for trying to find a makeup game. Hypocritical. Stupid. Shameful.

But again, the whole problem STEMS from the B1Gs complete and utter lack of transparency on ANY and EVERY level.

As I mentioned previously, it is my hope that Nebraska does leave and rejoin the Big12, that is home. It always will be because of the teams in the conference and Nebraska's long history with them. But now, my hope is that Nebraska does that and gets Warren fired and/or starts a fire in the conference on the way out.

I think a lot of it is because many football fans in BIG country, didn't want Nebraska in the first place.

That coupled with Nebraska not being relevant since they joined.

Plus the defiant actions.

good or bad Nebraska has at least made the B1G CCG, hard to say for shitty ass teams like Michigan (who couldnt make it when nebraska was in the same division as michigan)

You want to talk about underwhelming teams lets look at all the ones who never do or say anything, fuck them.

Ok, I don't want it either, but I am not hostile or talk shit because of it.

Semi-understandable. People were used to seeing Nebraska near the top for decades and Nebraska left the Big12 looking relatively good with top defenses, but since joining has looked bad. I get that... I wish that any of that mattered to this, but it doesn't. What does relevance have to do with a team simply wanting to play football and getting lambasted for even talking about it? It is completely nonsensical bullshit. I feel insulted when I see broadcasters/"journalists" say shit like that, not because it is about Nebraska as in this case but because it is irrelevant drivel meant for the lowest common denominator or dumbfucks to chew on. It's click bait. Say something harsh and outlandish that seems like it is connected to get those views/clicks/mentions/retweets/etc but if you take the time to just think about the shit they are saying in the context it is supposed to be in, it doesn't make sense.

What defiant actions? The B1G said no non-con... then explain why.

Looking for a team to play football with when that is what they are there for? The irony is that the media chewed up the B1G for its handling on this and now spits on Nebraska for attempting to do it the right way? If the B1G came out and explained their decisions for everything, I doubt there would be much contention, but the fact is that everyone is left in the dark and are supposed to simply 'just do as we're told' - why would that sit well with anyone? I am honestly baffled by this.

Eh, it would just be a little kitchen grease fire. OSU's got an extinguisher at the ready.

I didn't mean anything regarding the teams themselves. I meant more about the teams rising up against the current leadership like we have seen Ohio St and Michigan starting to voice (in their own way) lately.

I’d rather have a coach and a University who tries to explore every option possible to play football, safely, than a coach and University that just lays down.

If this had happened to tOSU, which it very well could, the narrative would be completely different.

Then there’s Iowa who is just content no matter what.

Yes, fuck them as well.

However, those schools make runs in basketball. And were already in the club.

They willingly joined a conference, to make money.

Which they have done hand over fist.

They agreed to things within the conference, yet somehow want to go against these things when they deem it convenient.

Im not privy to all 14 institutions financials, but im sure decisions were made with bottom lines in mind. And those bottom lines are impacted on by things much larger than football.

Rutgers and Maryland??? HAHAHA nope
Maryland has made the Sweet 16 since joining. And I think has made the tourney all but one year. I think.

Rutgers is Rutgers. And is New and shitty. I was getting at schools that are longterm members, going back to the Western Conference.

Maryland also has the most recent basketball natty out of any school in the big ten

of course, they did that when they were in the ACC. highly doubtful they are going to be able to accomplish that feat as a member of the big ten

Now the mold is set for absolutely no OCGames this season, any bad luck causing a shortage of games for any B1G team in a National Championship chase is a case of tough shit. Any deviation from that mold this season for any other B1G team will result in a real lawsuit and us folks out West will say tough shit B1G.

I hear they just gave Ferentz an extension because Nebraska couldn’t play this weekend.

Why don't you see them being able to win another?
