Nebraska and B1G isn’t working

yeah the round robin schedule, then top 2 teams in the CCG is pretty nice.

😆 Iowa is one of the best teams in the B1G. Rutgers can go though. B1G should have added Pittsburgh and Syracuse instead of Maryland and Rutgers.
Why all the MD slander for? They are a good basketball program, and the football program has gone through a bad stretch but they aren't terrible. No offense to PIT but they are no flagship school.. MD is.

They belong in the ACC. That is where their rivalries are at and all of the teams around them are in the ACC.

Bro rivalries are trumped by money.. if realignment hasn't shown you this since the 90's.. I don't know what to tell you..

But hey they can all schedule games in future OOC scheduling right?

Not sure that NU has established in the B1G the level of rivalry as the OU matchup was. Of the 4 teams that left the B12, NU may have been the most painful. aTm has improved their standing by going SEC. Mizzou has had their moments. CU....well, they're CU. Not expecting greatness. The Big 8 and B12 matchups with OU/NU were epic.

Ratings would suggest otherwise.
A good friend of mine from HS nephew is Dillon Gabriel(UCF QB) and her niece(Jhenna Gabriel) plays Volleyball for UT. I watch UT vb games in support of her.

Colorado, pre-scandal, was a competitive program and was fun to watch. The culture of the area has changed and they probably do fit better in the Pac12 now but I miss the old roughneck Colorado teams from Big 8 era.

Well they killed a player.

But how dare Nebraska actually want to just play football anyway anyhow.

but I digress

That’s the only reason the B10 added them. To get the NY market.

They could have added Syracuse (which is a better program in nearly every sport) and likely gain access to the market as well. Syracuse actually has a fanbase too.

(I know Syracuse isn't close to NYC but Missouri isn't that close to St Louis or Kansas City but they got the SEC into that market. Syracuse is really the only New York team that has a competitive FBS program historically).

Syracuse enjoys getting their ass reamed by the Deacs too much to join the Big Ten

The B1G has been really good the last 2 seasons, but prior to that it was really down, especially 2017 and 2018. I think the biggest problem is lack of high end recruiting. It's more of a developmental league. Sure a bunch of programs recruit at a top 25 level, but most of the top 25 type of kids go elsewhere. That and MSU has blown a ton of chances to realistically win it. 2019 comes to mind, 2018 comes to mind, 2016 comes to mind. Hell even 2010. Michigan made a nice run in 2018 but I don't think anyone thought they had realistic chances to win it going into the tournament. Plus they ran into a complete buzzsaw in the title game. Nova was so fucking good.
it also doesn't help that the big ten's crown jewel, Indiana, has been oddly pedestrian since the mid 90s.
