And apparently he lost 96% of the bets he made. Bad gambler, but a lifetime ban is so fucking stupid

If he lost that many bets, he must have been betting on the Padres to win.And apparently he lost 96% of the bets he made. Bad gambler, but a lifetime ban is so fucking stupid
Dude was making like 800k being on their major league IL. He gambled away a significant portion of his career earningsIf he lost that many bets, he must have been betting on the Padres to win.
The question is... Did he bet against his own team then proceed to attempt to throw the game? If so, then a ban is warranted. Anything short of that, I agree that banning players for gambling is dumb.a lifetime ban is so fucking stupid
Even then, let locker room justice do its thing, but I don’t think he ever saw the field enough to throw gamesThe question is... Slippery slope. That's hockey mentality and I like it, but it could go completely the opposite way. The gambler could convince more players to bet against their team and therefore more successfully throw games for the direct and immediate financial lucrativeness of it.Even then, let locker room justice do its thing, but I don’t think he ever saw the field enough to throw games
It might work for the AAAA players and guys making the minimum salary, no established or future star player is gonna risk getting their 8-9 figure contract or forfeit part of their current contract for a long suspension/banSlippery slope. Easy to say and makes logical sense, but it's not entirely true. Far too often, people with addiction problems repeatedly succumb to those problems against all logic. They throw away their careers they worked hard to achieve because they can't control themselves against those vices. It might work for the AAAA players and guys making the minimum salary, no established or future star player is gonna risk getting their 8-9 figure contract or forfeit part of their current contract for a long suspension/ban
Honestly, he might be the worst gambler of all time. I think his impressive ineptitude at gambling is punishment enough.
I’ve never heard of anyone going 0-25.
Then they can serve their suspension and lose their pay too. We ain’t here to hold anyone’s hand.Easy to say and makes logical sense, but it's not entirely true. People probably said that about Pete Rose when he was getting busted. It might work for the AAAA players and guys making the minimum salary, no established or future star player is gonna risk getting their 8-9 figure contract or forfeit part of their current contract for a long suspension/ban
Pete Rose was like 60 and on his last leg. He didn’t have much to lose.People probably said that about Pete Rose when he was getting busted.
He should have blamed his interpreter. That's all the rage these days. And apparently he lost 96% of the bets he made. Bad gambler, but a lifetime ban is so fucking stupid

It would have to be. I think it’s pretty well impossible to go 0-25 betting the run line, moneyline or over/underMy educated guess without more info would be that he went 0-25 on parlays that included those games?
