Whats your Whacker

Question, is this gonna be a one and done project or do you foresee using whatever machine you choose a lot going forward?

If it is a one-and-done thing I would suggest just renting what you want. This will be much cheaper than buying, and you don't have a machine sitting around that you don't really need.

That being said, a version of this might be a good fit because you can cover more ground but also allows you to get close to trees and sech.

It is a one and done but it may turn into MY Wacker and let wife take over the rechargeable one.

I have all electric accessories but keep thinking I want to upgrade to gas. More power and thumbs nose at California all in one swoop.

My edger really works hard to do its chores. I have 3 batteries and it goes through all 3 without going everything I want. It turns out ok as I say fuck it when the last one dies and go smoke a joint.

I fucking hate weed eating.

One of my least favorite chores.
I like it. I pretend like the tall grass is little people and I’m cutting their heads off

We had one of our big wigs sons work a summer with us a few years ago, before I made foreman. My old boss gave him a weed eater, a spool of weed eater cord and a jug of mixed gas, all he needed. Rode by and he was trying to use the weed eater like a sling blade, didn’t even have it running. Apparently had never used one and was too nervous to ask.

I'd like to get one of those some day. I'd also want a snow plow and snow thrower attachment for mine.

Not much need for that in Leander Texas, but he did get a stump bucket to clear out trees.

I have a ton of landscaping with some severely overgrown devil weeds and vines that are killing my trees. My tractor is too big to go through and mow down so I am at a quandary for options on how to proceed.

I could go old school and spend every waking hour of everyday pulling this shit up. Nope, not my thing.

So my bright idea is to get a Stihl FR91 trimmer, upgraded engine from bottom models and larger tank, and add in a disc that looks like a circular saw. Get em down to ground and clear them out and then spray some killer on top.

Problem I have is I do not want to lay out that cash before I go on vacation. Those products are not cheap. I also have very very limited experience with 2 strokes and their care.

I can get the FR91 for about $300 and try to get the disc thrown in but not much markup in these products from what I understand so walking away I will bet $400 is in sight with fuel and so forth. I have been kicking it around in my head since Sunday and I told myself that this Sunday is shit or get off the pot day on this.

Anybody have other options or experience and some insight on how to proceed?

Thanks

Get yourself a cooler of beer, a chair and then get a couple of these
