Last Monday of the month.

morning

went to NJ for the weekend for my nephew's birthday and went to the Jersey shore for the first time in years. Water was freezing.

Water was freezing.

Went to the beach on Saturday and was pleasantly surprised by how warm the water was. But it was over 90 out. Usually it’s cold as hell.

Ok weekend, didn't do much. Saturday thought I could beat the rain on a bike ride, got my 15 miles in. Last half of the ride it was raining, so instead of taking bike path through the park I normally take, I used frontage road to shorten trip a bit since it was raining. When Road and path that goes to my house rejoined, I got back on the path, but took hard a left and going decent clip, not thinking of rain and slick service, so my bike lost its grip on the road and just slid out from under me. The good news, the same water also made the bike a path a slip and slide for me, so I didn't get all torn up while I slid down the path, but I did get banged up on my left side and am still pretty sore. Finally 15 years of wearing a helmet and it actually paid off, after I fell I just laid on wet path for about a minute "awww fuck".

Periodontist appointment this afternoon, they're going to cut into my gum, clean out some roots, and graft in some bone. So I got that going for me, which is nice, not really.

Morning. Decent weekend as we celebrated our anniversary. Wife had to get a new phone due to battery issues. Also put the kids on our plan to make our bill cheaper by $5 and not pay $800 or $1k for wife's new phone.

Tuesday was windy but Wed and Thursday was awesome at St. Joe beach. Water was coldish bit not bad at all.

We've been working on that back 40. Did not spend the $400 on a new trimmer. Worked it with a Sawzall, a new lauper (which is bad ass) and some good old fashioned elbow grease. Then yesterday we started burning it all in neighbor pit. Took about 4 hours. Came home and ate and blah blah blah. Looked out back and wife had cut the absolute shit out of some more branches and now have another 4 hours of burning to do. Bit we filled up the pit so I gotta clean that out first. And good news, my left front leveling wheel gave out so I can't cut low or it will gouge my lawn.

Also started watching Shogun series with kid. Episode one down. Finished season 4 with wife of Unforgotten and cried.

Have you been pregaming some dental painkillers or something?

Picked out our Europe trip, going to london and then to dublin end of september/first week of october.

Should be fun

I think I spent more time in the car this weekend that I did actually with people...it was exhausting.

I need to stretch this weekend trips to NJ to something more than just Fri-Sun...it's not enough time.

So does it get better over time?

A got a year to catch up to ya.
No.

The last birthday that means anything is 25, the next that means anything is 65, and after that it’s all quite meaningless.

Just take care of your health the best you can and apply the Golden Rule where you can.

That’s all I’ve figured out.

Had a busy weekend. Graduation parties for my wife's cousin's oldest, then my sister's step daughter. Yesterday was a birthday party for the son of a kid I've coached for 3 of the last 4 seasons in baseball. Went to Six Flags after, heat kept the lines down and a brief rainstorm emptied the park. Got on 3 coasters. Short work week before vacation, which is nice.

fucking fruit flies are everywhere in my house right now. Time to set some traps
