So, it's well past that time of year unfortunately. Big offseason upcoming. Wish I could say I liked the rumored names up top more with the cap space they finally have, but alas here we are. What players is everyone liking or disliking from the rumors?
Paul George is largely seen as the top option available, don't love the idea of giving someone with his injury history and age that much money for a nice length, but he's a nice 2 way player when healthy. Does he really want to leave LA though or just using sixers as leverage?
Jimmy Butler trade is seen as a plan B. Love what he brings to a team, but Riley always asks for the moon and he is a guy who again wants to get reupped and ended his season watching hurt from the bench.
Ingram is another trade option talked about, not familiar too much with his defense, don't think he's known for it, wonder if he has room to improve. the fact he was benched for a 4th Q in a playoff game doesn't say a lot. Don't know what he would cost, but wouldn't give up much.
Mitchell seems to have recently come up as another trade option. I think I hear he's a decent defender, wouldn't be the worst option in the world. Don't know what the ask would be, but given what they gave up for him, can't imagine they'd make it cheap.
Not sure when the Olympic team gets together, but wouldn't mind Embiid being in Lebron or Durant's ear.
Don't want to hear any talk of Lavine, don't care how much draft capital you get back. Not trying to move on from one albatross to another.
Sixers getting OG from NY would be funny, not sure of his relationship with the coach, know they said Siakim wasn't a fan. The fact they didn't get either at the deadline (or were even rumored to) might make one wonder how likely this would be. Another guy that's been hurt a lot too. Though he or Siakim would have been nice to have this playoffs.
Won't speculate on lesser moves, as that changes depending if they land a big fish on what they have to work with.
Players on the team I wouldn't mind seeing back:
Nico
Lowry
Melton (on a low deal, I mean I guess this whole list is if the numbers are low)
Oubre, but sadly yesterday's price is not todays price and think he'll command more elsewhere.
not sure what Cam would get, but his deal was low this year and he looked nice in his limited playoff run.
Don't mind any of the 2 way guys coming back, if they find better fits, so be it. Do like they already got Rickey locked up, think he could develop nicely.
Max for Maxey goes without saying, though we're saying it anyway.
Saw Klay mentioned, wouldn't hate it wouldn't love it, wouldn't want that to be the biggest splash. Not sure what he has left in the tank, did play in 77 this year and hit .387 on 9 3's a night. his 2nd lowest percentage both coming within the last 3 years, so not great. I didn't see a second of any of their games, so have no idea if he still has it defensively.
