Finebaum Predicts Lincoln Riley Will Be Out At USC Following 2024 Season

Yes if I was an Oklahoma fan I would be extremely concerned you had to extend a lame-duck coach

No one (besides Texas fans) wants to see the Sooners move to the SEC and become some middle of the pack program but it feels like we are on that path and there are no brakes
Please welcome the Dustbowl Gamecocks

Lame-duck coach….uh….are you inferring that he is going somewhere else soon or are you saying he isn’t worth having as a head coach?

I’ll take my answer off the air.

I'm glad that everybody is concerned about us, and how we're spending our money.
But honestly, Venebles future depends entirely on the Coordinators he brought in, in the offseason.

Oh, and if the oil busness picks back up.
That helps too.

I'll wait and see.
As long as he's getting better, is all that matters.

But just to refresh your memories.........

Fuck Finebaum. He’s just another talking head in it for the money.
I assume you have a job? Aren't you in it for the money? Do you expect talking heads to work for nothing?

Not the 10 hour version? You’re slipping!

Well, of course I’ve got a job. But I’m not in the media & to be honest. I don’t really care for media types.

And also, I’m from Birmingham, Alabama. I’ve been listening to Paul Finebaum since there was a Paul Finebaum. He is just stale to me.

It’s so funny that people actually think all of the sudden OU is going to turn into something other than they have always been. I see people comparing them to programs like A&M. Please, simply no comparison. OU will be just fine.

This is funny because BV had one bad year. His first one when his roster was stripped including Caleb and Mario Williams. He bounced back year 2 and lost 2 games last year. Texas lost all of their best players on both sides of the ball last year except their qb and somehow they are head and shoulders better than OU despite that BV out recruiting them. OU is the only SEC school to get a #1 QB and #1 RB. I don't get the perception.

Finebaum is brilliant because he has basically created the Jerry Springer show for radio but has only improved his reputation in the media world.

It literally makes no sense that he has any credibility running the show he does but he is paid millions to do it, millions of people hang on his every word, coaches line up to be interviewed by him, and commissioners go out of their way to have lunch with him.

No rational explanation for what he has done.

Actually, it's very easy to understand. Paul Finebaum has the same unique, rare talent that elevated people like David Frost, Barbara Walters, Oprah Winfrey, Charlie Rose, Howard Stern, Larry King, Bob Costas, etc. to the top of show business: he is a great interviewer. Paul Finebaum asks the questions his listeners would like to ask themselves and then he goes deeper than the average fan would be able to go because of his phenomenal knowledge of the SEC and the game of college football. It's not something these people can learn in journalism school any more than you can learn how to be a great athlete. Of course they can tweak their God-given talent with experience and practice but the basic element of being able to ask questions that garner information from a wide variety of personalities and allows a mass audience to connect with an interview are worth the money they are paid.

Call Paul… he’ll make sense of it all

I’m in the minority. I’m a CFB fan and have never watched old Paul.

I never heard of him until his name was mentioned on the Hoop... furthermore, I still have never seen nor heard him in any video or audio clip. I also know nothing about him. I'm assuming he's a southern thing.

Finebaum trolling badly.

"I think [Riley has] lost the momentum," Finebaum said on First Take. "You have to win in L.A. otherwise you lose badly. And I think he's losing badly."

Then, Finebaum moved onto his suggestion of Deion Sanders to be the next head coach of the Trojans.

"I believe the answer after this season is Deion Sanders," Finebaum continued. "He's going to be tired of Colorado because, quite frankly, it's not prime time."

For some reason, Finebaum didn't like that Riley jumped ship, or how he did it.
He ain't letting up on him.

1. Pawwl is a front-runner, he sees what’s coming down the pike and acknowledges it in his newfound admiration of the Sooners.

2. Anyone who cares about doing things the admirable way has an issue with the way LR went about his tuck and run. The way he obfuscated his intent, the way he and his staff started poisoning the well and recruiting for USC WHILE STILL ON THE OU PAYROLL, etc.

3. LR will get what’s coming to him, let’s all just sit back and chuckle. :)

Riley will keep laughing all the way to the bank. He cashed in on his affiliation with OU in a big way.
