I loved everything about the Army-Navy Game experience. I was there early to see the Cadets and Midshipmen march in to the stadium, and the game was great with Army driving 99 yards in the 4th quarter to pull out a 14-13 victory (1995). Just was not a fan of the Vet as a CFB stadium: sterile, cookie cutter, concrete, artificial turf, etc.I'll take your opinion over most people, I've been to Philly for Army-Navy, which probably tops my list at the FBS level.
UCF also makes my list, trash...and the stadium is not that great either.
I love both of those old stadiums (Rose Bowl and L.A. Coliseum)!I like it way more than the Rose Bowl.
Never been there but it looks like a larger Cotton Bowl.i'm reserving my judgement til I get there and witness it myself in person but the UM stadium doesn't look appealing..
IMHO the Cotton Bowl is what a stadium should be. Come for the game, not the amenities.Never been there but it looks like a larger Cotton Bowl.
I like the Rose Bowl better from the outside than the inside, opposite for the Coliseum.I love both of those old stadiums (Rose Bowl and L.A. Coliseum)!
I hear ya. I’ve turned into a fair weather fan though. I don’t mind outside as long it isn’t 100 or 30. Then I’m a fan of the fancy indoor places. I also prefer watching games at the smaller stadiums. Not a fan of those bigger ones. But The only big college stadiums I’ve been to are DKR, Kyle Field and Arizona State’s old stadium.IMHO the Cotton Bowl is what a stadium should be. Come for the game, not the amenities.
I have been to just a few outside Legion Field and Jordan-Hare. Neyland, Lane, and the Orange Bowl and enjoyed them all.I hear ya. I’ve turned into a fair weather fan though. Nothing beats the Sun Bowl on a pleasant, sun splashed December afternoon! Perfect CFB stadium.I hear ya. I’ve turned into a fair weather fan though. I don’t mind outside as long it isn’t 100 or 30. Unlv hasn't played at Sam Boyd in yearsI love old rickety stadiums like Vandy and Duke. They both have charm and make for a good CFB day.
My least favorite stadiums are all out circulation now:
Sam Boyd @ UNLV (Iowa State @ UNLV), HHH Metrodome @ Minnesota (Iowa @ Minnesota), The Vet @ Philadelphia (Army-Navy). Just not a single thing I liked about those three stadiums besides the game I saw there.
All of the other stadiums I have been to either had charm, history or were just super nice / comfortable.
Yep. I went to the Iowa State @ UNLV Game in 1999. It was on a Fight Night, and it was a real hassle to catch a cab to the game. Had to ride the city bus back to the hotel after the game. Cyclones won 24-0, Darren Davis had over 200 yards rushing, and I hit on a 6-game parlay which paid for my trip! Fun trip. Sucky stadium.Unlv hasn't played at Sam Boyd in years
Boise State should be up there. Parking lot is in like a business complex, there's a gas station next door, place just looks gross
I was at the game where his big brother had 308 yards and 5 TDs and left the game with 20 minutes left. Also against UNLV.Yep. I went to the Iowa State @ UNLV Game in 1999. I was at that game too! One play, it was 3rd and very long (17 or so). I turned to my buddy and said: "Give it to Troy and see what happens". TD happened!I was at the game where his big brother had 308 yards and 5 TDs and left the game with 20 minutes left. Also against UNLV.
