lol yup. Every single one of our machines that was on overnight is toast. My group has to visit a few hundred PC's today to apply the fix -- but there is already a fix, it just has to be manually applied to the machine. So I bet those critical services (like airports) will be back online sometime today.

A security program called Crowdstrike basically caused a boot loop that eventually causes the blue screen of death. It's actually a rather simple fix:

  1. Boot Windows into Safe Mode or the Windows Recovery Environment.
  2. Navigate to the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike directory.
  3. Locate the file matching “C-00000291*.sys”, and delete it.
  4. Boot the host normally.

Not all, just those on windows. AA, UA, DL are all grounded. Southwest doesn't appear to be.
 
Not able to do much work with this outage going on.
