According to ESPN's Bill Connelly. I actually agree with the top 5. I'd probably have Crabtree in the top 25. Only having 2 seasons of statistical production probably hurt him.

Hard to imagine they left this guy off the list

In terms of talent, I would agree. He was probably hurt because he missed half the year, his last year. If he would have had 3 years like his 1st, he's probably top 5. His FR was insane.

I don't like that they don't have single CB on there either. Can't name one off the top of my head but I gotta imagine there is one.

Probably doesn't help that the best CBs don't build up a bunch of stats bc no one throws at them

I could have sworn Mathieu played some CB in college, but you're right, he's listed as a safety here. First guys I thought of were Gamble at OSU(can't remember his first name) and Pac Man Jones. But that was because they also did other things. Neither of them would make this list. There really was no Charles Woodson type this century. Outside of Mathieu I can't recall a DB making the top 5 of the Heisman.

Yeah that's what I mean, unless they built up stats by playing receiver or returning kicks then their claim to fame was just shutting down whoever they lined up across, which isn't tracked all that well.

I loved watching Teddy Ginn in college too. Between receiving and returning punts and kicks, I wouldn't mind seeing him on a list like this. (Probably not top 25 but maybe 50 and definitely 100)

Yeah, I agree. A shutdown corner is tough to track. Someone like Joe Haden had a really good career at UF, didn't even make an honorable mention. These lists typically skew towards offense.

I know it may sound homerish, but Jonathan Taylor at #25 is a joke. Top 5 for sure.

Ndamukong Suh is easily the best. His numbers were on par with the numbers of Bama’s entire dline combined in 09

A little surprised they put Baker Mayfiled at #2 with so many people having bias against him.

Patrick Peterson is probably the first to pop in my head
