yeah.. i remember the favorite for the North Division was the team that avoided UT/ou and played aggy/osu at home lol
So you don't remember it at all, could have just said that. Not surprised though, I think that was before Walmart was selling officially licensed collegiate gear so you probably had a different "favorite" team.

It's no different than the Big12 back in the day, where you had the easier schedule in the south if your two year rotation was KState (most years) instead of Nebraska.

Not sure why this is a hard concept for some, unless they just want to try to be cute.
Not a hard concept at all. Just pointing out the fact that there are no unbalanced schedules because ALL SEC schedules are difficult no matter who is on them. At least that's the company line I've heard for years.

Same for the B1G. IIRC it started years ago with Gordon Gee's comments about "Little Sisters of the Poor" and "Murderer's Row" but my rememberer ain't to swift nowadays.

It really showed up after the first few years of the conference. I think the North won something like three of the first five and only a couple more after that. Nebby, K-State a couple each. And either Colorado or Mizzou won I think. The rest were all South and most OU.

Then you were only hearing what you wanted to hear, because the discussion was always about who got the top teams in any given year. You know how I know, because i was saying it when A&M became the first (and I think only) team to play the #1 ranked team three times in one regular season. And the years that teams avoided Bama when they were rolling, they had the "easy SEC" schedule and same with those that avoided UGA these last few years.

So yeah there are easy or hard schedules in every conference, but the difference is that the "easy" schedule in SEC is still harder than a hard schedule in the old Big12.

lol oh shit here we go.. we didn't suck.. we just ran out of quality losses..

yeah sorta the way you been avoiding Bama in the regular season? Like I said, you would know.. don't need to take it personal lol
I am not taking it personally, but I keep mentioning this and you keep coming back with "but you guys in the past." Address the schedule advantage now. Hell, I'd gladly admit it if we had your schedule.

- I have always said we had it easier in the SECE of late (not so much in the 90s and 00s).

- It was always easier to not play Bama in the regular season, that's obvious. But, we almost always had to get through them in the SECCG. But, sure I absolutely admit not playing them every year was good for us.

So, with that out of the way, how about letting us know what you think about your schedule.

when did i say our schedule was hard? I was just making the remark that you would know lol...

I am just loving the welcome.. #Hookem

C'mon, now you are being obtuse. The point I was making was really simple - Texas, without a doubt, has one of the easiest SEC schedules compared to all other SEC schools. It's not really debatable. This isn't the old "everyone in the SEC is tough" argument. I am very simply telling a Texas fan they better win it this year because their schedule is going to be tougher in future years. That they should feel very fortunate to have not gotten OU's or our schedule. It's a simple discussion unless you want to make it complicated.

sure man.. how is this schedule compared to yours most recently? Or are you talking about this season only? I feel this schedule is on par with what Bama and UGA has faced over the past few seasons..

sure you can point to Ole Miss being ranked higher now that a year or two ago.. or the rise of TN for a year.. but it's the same..

NOW if you are talking about THIS year.. yes they gave you a tough schedule ..especially for what typically you got..

maybe in 2 years when they redo the schedules, they hammer UT? who knows..

I'm just sitting back and enjoying the schedule/schedule difficulty talk.. went from UT is scared of the SEC because it's so tough to now.. well you benefited in a "soft" SEC schedule lol (not your words exactly)

oh look not the worst schedule in the SEC, guess we have to thank Michigan for that? 1723049356529.png

Ok, and what does that have to do with what I said? :pound:

your reading comprehension sucks, maybe you did go to Jexas. Take some advil and try reading that again and see if you can't figure out that there is no attempt by me to defend A&M's record.

No you have idiots that are running numbers based on last years records to "thank for that". Oh, and the thirst for clicks and eyeballs.
