FSU the rest of the season ...

Norvell buyout would be $63M.. which is still cheaper than what aggy had to pay for Jimbo to walk away lol

No way FSU fires him.. one of the guys on surly was saying that they most likely force him to fire his bros that he hired as assistants and hire better coaches around him. That would be much cheaper than canning him along with that staff.

I'm just patiently waiting on 2 of their DT commitments to start popping up in Austin soon enough

^^ THIS ^^

A quick ticket to disaster is keeping friends and family gainfully employed.

Where did you get the 63mm number because he signed an extension last year that is worth 84mm?

That is ultimately what got Tuberville. He was willing to fire and hire coordinators but kept his bros in assistant spots and refused to make changes. That and he bought 100% into the theory that he could take 3 and 4 stars and coach them up so he didn't need the 5 stars which was insane.

Meh, they’ll be 6-6 or 7-5 ish imo. Possibly a little better if they can get better as the season unfolds.
They’ve obviously took a big step back from last season , lost a bunch of talent and played two seasoned/mobile QB’s who can be a headache in their first two games this year. DJU has never blown people away save for the one game vs ND a few years ago but it’s not just him, the lines are struggling and that TE that dropped 18 passes that hit him in the face last night should probably find a spot on the bench before anyone else does.

Sounds like Dabo.

They are the team we beat 63-3 in the Orange Bowl, plus 16 transfers who weren't, for the most part, starting at the schools they came from. They have a terrible culture ... they quit at the end of last year, and there is no reason to think they have the ability to simply turn on culture in a couple of months. They lost some good players when they brought in players to replace them - their no. 2 QB last year, as an example. When they determine that Ukalalee sucks, they will turn to who was their no. 3 guy last year and played in the Orange Bowl.

I don't see how you suddenly turn that around. There are no leaders on the team who can change the attitudes. They won't suddenly get better. Their D is terrible. Their OL got eaten by BC. That's the type of thing you can't quickly turn around.

It will be interesting to see what the mercenaries do when they realize this isn't the 13-1 FSU team, and they aren't going to be one-and-done, off to the NFL like so many did last year.

In case you guys didn't hear, I absolutely LOVE watching FSU lose
After all their bitching all off-season, and suing the ACC, and acting like they were god's gift to CFB, it's going to be fun to see them struggle and then lose their lawsuit. Every ACC team will give them their best.

I sure hope so, but it's still the ACC

This is exactly why Freeze didn’t go into the portal for a QB. Thorne isn’t going to win a natty but with his experience in the system and chemistry established he was as good as most of the options in the portal plus the money we would have had to lay out would be a chunk of NIL that could be invested elsewhere.

The portal build is reminding me of the days when some coaches like Jackie Sherrill would build a team from community colleges or the one and done rosters in basketball.

To be successful you need continuity and experience with field talent. Transfers can plug a hole but you can’t build a whole team.

The ACC officials will too :dhd:

I didn't give two shits about them before @SJ76 started being a prick and tagging me every time A&M lost last year. Now fuck him, I tag him and "you doing ok" now to give it back to him. :dhd:

But he's been suspiciously absent lately. I hope they win a game soon so he can come back and post again. lel

"Should FSU decide to fire Norvell, reports are that they would be required to pay him 85 percent of his remaining contract. Meaning, Norvell would be due near a whopping $63 million."

However I also found this.. which means it's more than the $63M

Buyout Details

  • After 2023 Season (Beginning of 2024): $84,200,000
  • After 2024 Season (Beginning of 2025): $74,200,000
  • After 2025 Season (Beginning of 2026): $64,050,000
  • After 2026 Season (Beginning of 2027): $53,750,000
  • After 2027 Season (Beginning of 2028): $43,300,000
  • After 2028 Season (Beginning of 2029): $32,700,000
  • After 2029 Season (Beginning of 2030): $21,950,000
  • After 2030 Season (Beginning of 2031): $11,050,000

maybe 85% of $74.2M is $63M ??

Things are shaping up nicely for the UF-FSU end-of-season "bowl".

He was Dan Mullen's master.

You know something is wrong when BC comes to Tallahassee and wins in an overpowering fashion, the fact that FSU didn't have the strength or game plan to put the GT game behind them, at least show up, and...

BC took knees on the 5 yard line and showed the Noles mercy when BC could have made it look a lot worse.

yeah when late in the game and FSU needed a stop they just couldn't get one. Poorly coached, poorly conditioned, poorly executed. It's like they came into the season thinking "eh, we almost won it all last year so we are good to do the same stuff" while everyone watched tape and figured them out.

Oh and their QB sucks this year

They’re going to continue to struggle until they publicly admit that they didn’t belong in the playoff last year, apologize for failing to show up for the Georgia game and cease and desist all douchebaggery going forward.
I like to call it the Curse of Jameis
