I guess guilty. I just went and pulled out a 5950 and 3930 and put them side by side to see what you are talking about. Neither one has a crown that sits higher than the other. They both are rounded crown with a nice slope backwards, not a flat windbreak like some brands.

There are two 5950 fits… most online retailers specify, but when buying in stadiums, they often don’t.

If you like the 920 but want solid back, check out 2920. I think most versions have a 920 and 2920, but the later has the flexfit. It's a great hat for throwing around because the bill will hold but no backer material that can crease up.

Flat brims are for Low T Soy Boys. I played ball for 20 years and your basic cap, beat up with a curved brim was always worn. Sometimes inside out if you needed a rally.

Just checked again, I have 4 5950 that I can locate and all just say "official on field cap". Nothing about low profile

Maybe the official hat is low profile.

I don't know if there is anything written on them that says "low profile"

but I also have not owned many of them

I used to buy them from minorleagues.com because I couldn't find low crown/profile anywhere else

Flexfit and low profile 5950s = forward ballplayer curve

Traditional 5950 = forward, slight curve

SnapBack = in the dumpster.
