it's because they put their marquee game at noon.. be interesting to see how Oct 12th plays out as far as ratingsI doubt that given the other competition. Ark/Oklahoma State was the only other game that rated in the top 10. 3:30 had ND/NIU, Iowa State/Iowa and South Carolina/UK combine for 9m viewers. The Noon window has been a huge hit for Fox.

Interesting number. I thought around 3 million, so slightly less than that. I do think Nebraska/Illinois will top this slightly.
"Oh man, you fool! Remember that time on a message board you thought NU would have better TV numbers on a Friday game and they didn't? Man you looked so dumb for that!"I think Neb/Illinois will crush those numbers. Granted the corn aggies have been down for a good while. But they are still “blue blood” in the eyes of many old farts like me. Neither K-State or Zona enjoy that type of brand.
Now watch the numbers tank and I’ll have egg on my face.
That’s the response I fully expect now!"Oh man, you fool! Remember that time on a message board you thought NU would have better TV numbers on a Friday game and they didn't? Man you looked so dumb for that!"

Like I said. The game will get worse numbers than K-State/Zona and I'll look like an idiot for that comment. I just think "name brand" matters more than the quality of the football teams. tOSU get more viewership for a 54-7 rout of Purdue than a close game like we had with Pitt/WV last Saturday. JMO.Last year Nebraska/Illinois did 1.36 million viewers on a Friday night. Granted that was FS1, and a worse game. I'd be surprised if it got more than 3.5 million. Either way, I'll be watching.
It's been a huge moneymaker for network executives, but watching the whiteout game in Happy Valley at noon has been a colossal failure for actual fans. And because there is typically less competition in the Noon window. The ratings are higher than they were before they rebranded as Big Noon. It's been a huge success.
Had to look up what was on Friday 4/5/2024.
It was UCONN/Iowa women's college basketball Final 4.

That game was on ESPN, so I'm confused by that graphic.
I definitely prefer some of them at noon, but having the biggest game of the week at noon just sucks. Again, just speaking as an OSU fan, why the hell are we playing Western Michigan in primetime but Penn State at noon? It's not what the fans want, but it's what makes already insanely wealthy execs even more wealthy. It's in the same vein of having to pay for multiple different apps just to watch scheduled sports.Yeah, I get some fans aren't happy with noon games. I actually prefer them over night games, but I think I'm in the minority on that.
You ain’t alone. I do too. Except for watching early season games in Texas live. Too damn hot. I’m old school. In the fall, Friday night IS high school football, Saturday afternoon IS college football and Sunday afternoon IS pro football.Yeah, I get some fans aren't happy with noon games. I actually prefer them over night games, but I think I'm in the minority on that.
