Tennessee to become first college to add NIL surcharge to tickets

Funny I guess, but his buyout was fully funded before he was even handed his walking papers.
yeah but imagine if the fans paid for it.. then you could have targeted a better coach than Elko :)

Elko is the perfect coach for us. Probably won't see 7 losses in his first season here, unlike Sark.

he really is the perfect coach for y'all with that attitude

Yes, he is the perfect coach for us. What attitude do you think he needs?

Sark in year 3 or 4, of course is doing better with a roster of his players. No chance you beat A&M this year.

No chance aye??

Kind of shocking there isn’t a tip jar outside of every football game used for NIL

So, basically don’t travel to Knoxville to watch your team play unless you want to contribute to Tennessee’s buying players

That's the way it is everywhere in some form or another. My suite at the OU games comes with a mandatory booster fee. It's a hefty price and non negotiable. You gottta pay to play or get left behind.

I don’t mind it for UGA home games, or even “road” games at GT and Vandy, but I’m not helping an actual threat

This feels gross. About as gross as when Umich started making us pay a mandatory "donation" to retain our season tickets and it was based on the location of the tickets. Like, fools -- that's just the cost of the tickets then. Just make the damn face value more.

Thankfully OSU has remained fair with their prices for student tickets, still around $40-50 per game. That's basically what I remember paying as a student in the mid-2000s. That said, they're making an absolute killing on parking though. Hopefully that keeps the ticket prices relatively sane.

I made it plain as the Oklahoma in each end zone that I was willing to pony up for things like nice facilities but I would never give a penny to NIL. I told one of the athletic department honchos "I have no problem helping with something that might be around for 50 years but I'm not helping buy someone who might be around for only 50 weeks and then poof! They're gone." A well structured pay-for-play system with reasonable guardrails would be one thing. But this Wild West Show is not for me. And trust me, I'm not the only one who feels this way.

The student tickets are still super cheap at Michigan - $27. But you have to show your mcard to use them, if you sell them to someone else they have to go to the ticket office and get them "verified"...IE -- pay the difference between that and the normal face value.

I'm thinking that's probably the same thing here. Have never tried to buy tickets from a student but that wouldn't surprise me. I got two seats to the Marshall game in A deck for $250 from a friend of mine, and that's what he and his wife pay per game for their season ticket so I'm sure they'd make sure they get that difference for a student ticket.
