2024 College Football TV Ratings

I will admit the game won't have the eyeballs it did before the pause because it used to be on THX day, and hopefully it will get back there. I don't think anyone tries to go against us in whatever timeslot we get, but I do think it will be the 7pm slot. ND/USC will be earlier in the day, Kstate game won't draw eyes from us, and some of those games listed will end up on ESPN+. UF/FSU won't make the major network and by that point in the season LSU/OU might not either. If I had to guess right now I'd say ABC runs LSU/OU at noon, Bama/Aub at 3:30, and A&M/Jexas at 7pm. Everyone else can go to ESPN or ESPN+

ESPN already announced that OU/LSU will be a 3:30 or later kickoff, so it's going to go up against one of Auburn/Bama or Texas/Texas A&M.

Also, even if it isn't opposite ND/USC, it's not likely opposite Oregon/Washington, which avg over 7 million viewers last year.

Also, even when it was on Thanksgiving, the game never topped 7 million viewers. And the game in 2011 got 4.1 million viewers.

Well you got it all figured out. Just have to wait to see the numbers. But unranked A&M vs unranked Florida pulled 4.8m, pretty sure Jexas at A&M is gonna do just fine.

That was aided by little to no competition in the 3:30 window(CBS & Fox both had blowouts, and NBC didn't have an ND game on) I don't have it all figured out. Yes, the game is going to get a monster rating. Will it be the best regular season rating ever? No. Lol. You're just setting yourself for disappointment.

Yeah, ESPN has a bunch of games to choose from. This is the slate TBD:

This would be my guess as to where games go:

Florida vs. FSU - 12:00 | ESPN
South Carolina vs. Clemson - 12:00 | ABC
Vanderbilt vs. Tennessee - 12:45 | SECN
Auburn vs. Alabama - 3:30 | ABC
Arkansas vs. Missouri - 4:30 | SECN
Oklahoma vs. LSU - 7:00 | ESPN
Texas vs. Texas A&M - 7:30 | ABC
Louisville vs. Kentucky - 8:00 | SECN

Plus they also have 6 additional ACC games to schedule and a handful of B12.

I could see a very realistic scenario where the OU/LSU, Texas/A&M and ND/USC games are all on at the same time. Unless there's like 30+ million people watching in primetime that weekend, I don't see how Texas/A&M gets close to 20+ million.
You guys keep forgetting the best game of them all - the "Old-Fashioned Hate" game that weekend!

7:30 pm, the 29th, in Athens.

You're comparing a weekend with few big games to rivalry weekend.

Nope, I'm saying that a nobody game can get nearly 5m then A&M and Jexas is gonna smoke that.

25 million, easy
I think if it were on THX and the NFL didn't have the late game they do now, it would easily hit 25m. Being on a saturday with other games is going to draw eyes away. But here in about month that game is going to get blitzed on Gameday, commercials, everywhere. If only A&M can keep winning and stay ranked, it's gonna set records.

oh yeah i was just joking but it's going to be well over 5M.. it's not like y'all will have a losing record heading into that game either.. Reed is the QB Klein/Elko SHOULD have rolled out week 1.. (all the talk over the summer was how he looked better running the offense)

It's gonna be a great game

I like Connor but he can't stay healthy, and all of that is not on the OL. Reed did well with little prep for the bowl game and looked good this last week. However, he can't throw the ball deep and missed a lot of WR's who had beat their guy deep. With first team reps he can get there, but will he get them or enough of them to be ready this season?

If both are top 10 teams it will top 20m for sure.

Some of y'all just don't remember this rivalry, and that's ok.

I'm old enough to remember the last 3 games combined didn't top 20 million viewers.

Connor will never be healthy til the OL is fixed.. Reed can move and is more comfortable which is needed with a leaky OL.. He doesn't have to necessarily throw bombs down field, especially since the WRs aren't that great to begin with..imo, of course

He didn't even see them, he is still too quick to make the first read then run. He needs the reps to break that, but not sure he will get them. There were a lot of opportunities to push down field that he never saw. If he were throwing them and missing that would be one thing, but he never saw or attempted them which is an issue. Reed is good enough to beat the lesser teams, but won't stand up against any average or better teams.
