That's definitely possible. Some of those old football coaches are like that.

I remember George Allen saying that if he ever stopped coaching, he'd probably die. His last coaching job was in 1990 when he accepted a 1 year deal to coach Long Beach State. That team played their last game on November 17, 1990. He died December 31, 1990.
