Series Thread NY Mets (87-69) at Atlanta Braves (85-71), Sept 24-26

I'm at work so I won't be able to catch the first but I'll at least have my alerts on. Braves win the first and no way i'm watching the night cap

I think you meant if they win both games, they'd be second, if they split, they're 3rd. No way they sweep in Atlanta but good chance they lose both. It would be fitting.

Stupid D-bags had to go and win yesterday
Yeah, that’s what I meant

A split is by far the most likely scenario. Whoever wins game one is gonna start a scrub pitcher and rest guys in game 2

Schwellenbach starts game 1 for us. It’s already said if we win game one, Sale for sure isn’t starting game 2

But there is a chance for the Mets to end lolMets from Braves fans and a chance to add another chapter to it

This is best-case for the Mets, win the opener. Even if the Braves win the first one and then put out a triple A lineup, the pressure will be too much for the Mets.

Win game one is the best scenario for both teams. No pressure for game 2, and for the Braves, it would set up a WCR rotation of Sale-Fried-Lopez

Lose game 1, win game 2, it’s likely Fried-Lopez and Morton and Morton is cooked

Who are your starters today?

Game one is Tylor Megill, 4-5 with a 3.98

Game 2 will likely be Severino, 11-7, 3.91

Mets have scored exactly one run against Schellenbach in 14 innings. 15 K's.

Megill has 6 innings against Atlanta, gave up 4 runs and 5 hits, 3 homers.

This is the third time seeing Schwellenbach, I’d expect em to be on him a little more this go around. Plus, high pressure spot for a rookie

I'm guessing everybody will be on a short leash in game one, IF it stays tight. One team gets out way in front, save the bullpen for the second game.

Hoping for a split. The D-backs is the Brewers worst matchup.
Split is very likely. Most double headers are splits as is, and in this case the winner of game one is likely gonna pitch some scrub and empty the bench in game 2

Gotta do a 1-hour training starting in 30 minutes. This thing might be decided before I even know what's happening

The great thing about hurricane disasters is the office being out of power and no work. Don’t have to pretend to work.

If it's a split, Dbacks are out.

Only way Dbacks make it in is if the Mets or Braves sweep today.

Schwuttlebutt 12 pitches and 2 K's in the first. Game over.

Darn near a repeat in the second. Kid is solid. Mets again hitting balls hard but right at Braves

Dang, starting to look like the game last week. Braves getting lucky breaks, Mets nothing yet.

Gotta go to my training, check in when I get done

Damnit. 1st and 2nd with one out and next 2 strike out.
