Travel expense would be my guess.Wondering why Texas State hasn’t accepted yet then. The MWC still needs one more team to be a recognized conference.

UTEP to the mwc conference as well?Travel expense would be my guess.
I don’t think that would be an issue since the MWC is giving all of their potential money out. I get them giving money to UNLV but a signing bonus to a school who provides zero like Air Force, I’m sure they could pay Texas State’s travel expenses for a year until they figure out their television deals and whatever other revenue streams they are possibly going to get.Travel expense would be my guess.
If so, our travel would be less than what it is in C-USA. We used to be with most of the MWC back in the WAC days. I even go back as far as the WAC only being us, UNM, CSU, Wyoming, BYU, Utah, Arizona and Arizona State.UTEP to the mwc conference as well?
If they are going to subsidize Texas State I could see it. If they could net more than the Sun Belt they might even be willing to do it w/o being subsidized.I don’t think that would be an issue since the MWC is giving all of their potential money out. I heard tarleton state is in talks with mwcWondering why Texas State hasn’t accepted yet then. The MWC still needs one more team to be a recognized conference.
This is going to be ignorant but who is Tarleton State?I heard tarleton state is in talks with mwc
Not really. There really isn’t really a reason to know if you aren’t from these parts or you aren’t a rodeo officianado! This is going to be ignorant but who is Tarleton State?
The MWC currently does have the money it seems to subsidize travel. But my fear is what happens when that money is gone? Outside of UNLV, the remaining schools in the MWC is why there wasn’t a merger or anything because of financial support for their athletics. If they are going to subsidize Texas State I could see it. Football travel ain’t a problem at al. It is the other. Their closest MWC conference game would be us (if we are going) at 600 miles.
Hmm, that would seem weird when in the MWC footprint they have a few powerhouse FCS schools who are better than some of the MWC schools. But I guess it’s football in Texas so there is more upside than North Dakota or Montana. Not really. School in Stephenville, Tx, southwest of FW. Been trying to move up to FBS.
Who do we think the PAC is targeting as their 8th football member? It looks like the AAC and MWC are closed off. Do they look at the FCS ranks?
My guess is new mexico state and that they also have a offer in to texas state.Who do we think the PAC is targeting as their 8th football member? It looks like the AAC and MWC are closed off. Do they look at the FCS ranks?

The bigs ones seem to be UNLV and Memphis. The MWC isn’t closed off because none of their stuff is binding ATM. Not sure the issue with the AAC but the Memphis AD all but asked the Pac 12 to offer them more and they would come. Ideally UNLV just says screw it and comes. Them and Gonzaga were targets after the 4 MWC schools.Who do we think the PAC is targeting as their 8th football member? It looks like the AAC and MWC are closed off. Do they look at the FCS ranks?

Agreed. I think their aim may be getting some of those AAC teams like Memphis and Tulane. The buyout goes down after 2025 for them iirc. 4 would probably be ideal for travel and probably drives up (at least a little) the media deal when that happens. It is kind of humorous on Twitter some fans of the future PAC think if they get Memphis and and Tulane the media deal could be worth $15 million per team a year, lol.Looks like MWC is going with the simplest not really realignment answer and making Hawaii a full member. That gets them to 8 so now they can really take their time to look at potential future members.
No reason why Hawaii can’t be a power in basketball imo. Should be able to take a trained monkey and recruit 3-5 good basketball players to live on an island paradise for a few years.Looks like MWC is going with the simplest not really realignment answer and making Hawaii a full member.
