While I would never say that UNLV is in the greatest position, it's the first time in forever they haven't completely fucked things up.
They are going to get a shit ton of money, by unlv standards, and still have an option down the road to jump to another larger conference. I could see unlv moving to the big 12 even of things go right.
The PAC isn't really all that appealing anymore, and teams like Boose and others jumped just for the sake of jumping. They have wanted out of the MWC conference since byu fucked the entire conference on the last TV deal.
It's all a shit show, and who really k ows how this shakes out.

I don’t think anyone is arguing UNLV isnt in a good position. (I certainly am not) But the idea they are in the “greatest position in college football realignment history” is laughably false.
I absolutely could see UNLV getting into the B12 one day. The idea of Vegas excites the current commish and probably a few others in the conference office too.
And I don’t blame you guys for not joining the PAC. I’m very much interested who the PAC adds and how many and who the MwC adds.
IMHO they are just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. They’re all going to sink other than the B1G and SEC. They’ll just sink more slowly.

I don’t think Michigan is in the Big 12. But with all the realignment I might have missed them joining.

I get it it is hard for you to understand but the conference just added two schools that is on our door step, hence two natural rivals, the next school I mentioned is a quick jog down the road. Big 12 is a pretty big stretch as they left out teams like Memphis and SMU. They will be targeting teams like FSU, Clemson, Gonzaga and some ACC teams when it blows up in 2036.
Never say never but UNLV is going to have to make series strides in FB and BB for the B12 to get interested. Remember they turned down Cal and Stanford.
