It's more than just the number of fans; it's the acoustics. Many of these larger stadiums are not built to keep the sound in; hence why Oregon has higher decibel readings than pretty much all of them.

Your point? Penn St is up there too. The whole point is Ohio St plays in loud stadiums every year, the Nike Stadium isn't changing anything. Just another tough atmosphere.

Sure but 20K is 20K. At the beginning of the game or times it gets loud I would bet on that 20K making a difference. They might be loud but nothing compared to Michigan, Penn St or some of these 100K SEC stadiums. 54K even loud is nothing. I have been to a handful of them. It feels different.

Even Ben Hill Griffin is almost 90K. I couldn’t hear my buddy screaming in my ear

its the shape of the stadium that makes a difference. its like how screaming at a wall sounds different than into a cup
