That was an ugly game

I think Oklahoma just needs to come to grips with the idea that they’re not a football powerhouse anymore. Time to embrace your gymnastics team.
I've been trying to tell them, but they're a stubborn bunch

BV downfall is his offensive coordinators.. ou fans were hating Lebby, loving Literell.. now they want Literell gone.. Marion is not coming.. BV gives him a mulligan since Arnold and Hawkins aren't his guy.. he can get the guy he wants in the portal and let the kid in the class actually sit and learn

I would be on BB's ass though.. THis is BV 3rd season as HC.. that OL coach been there for YEARS.. no reason your OL should be THAT mid.. thinking he can just grab 4 dudes in the portal and "coach em up" ...

My big question on OU is what is Bedenbaugh doing? The OLs have been mediocre to bad and no development (see all the portals in OL). Hard to do anything with poor OLs.

Yes it was. Good to be able to get one though. Quick turnaround now with the Dawgs coming to DKR. Then the trip to country music.
Hope Quinn got all the rust out.. that first quarter was bad for him.. I hated the first play of the game.. took too long to develop but he had an open WR that he completely whiffed on.. then the next series.. had a wide open WR who would have taken it to the house.. and instead throws behind and to the feet..

Can't be doing that vs UGA this week for sure

And it looks like Vandy will be catching you at a good time. Who’d a thunk it?

I probably should be more worried about Vandy, but I don’t see Texas losing that one. I don’t think anyone sleeps on them now

I am not sure OU can fix the offense. The OL is bad. The WR room is a M.A.S.H unit. The QB is a freshman, that holds the ball too long (not unusual). They have no playmakers. Tatum is a talented potential playmaker, but he is a mess in pass pro (typical for freshmen) and you cannot play him with an OL that struggles to block. There are just a lot of problems. I don’t see getting 1-2 WRs back as completely fixing the issues. D+/C- is probably the ceiling for the offense. That is just a shit environment for trying to develop a Qb.

who knew our walk on safety would out play their 5 star safety?

Finally got home from the game and got some sleep. It felt like planes, trains and automobiles. For that?! Here are my reactions:

1. The atmosphere and level of excitement at this RRSO was the most bland I have ever seen it. Of course fans were cheering and Texas was happy but something was just off about the crowd. It wasn’t like a typical OU/Texas game. Not even close to what you normally see from two charged up fan bases. Even in years when one team is a solid favorite. The Texas fans I talked to felt it too. Hard to figure out.

2. Obviously injuries have contributed to OU's problems. But Seth Littrell and Bill Bedenbaugh need to go. Not now but after the season. OU wanted into the SEC; they need to act like it. No more carrying anyone hoping "things will get better".

3. OU is one of the worst teams in the SEC. BV should get one more year to make OU a lot better. Dude needs to be kept on a short leash until he wins something. I doubt Joe Castiglione's Rolodex has any dust on it.

4. Texas was generally more physical than OU. I can’t remember the last time I saw that happen for pretty much an entire game.

5. The OU defense is good but still has problems with too many missed tackles. Just gotta keep getting better to become a truly great defense. Guys like Stutsman also took plays off when it could have made a difference as early as the second quarter. It wasn't just fatigue. Shades of Dusty Dvoracek against USC.

6. Sark coached circles around BV. Texas made adjustments that put OU in a box. They were willing to let Oklahoma get a few yards here and there but they focused on forcing OU to put together a drive that would take a string of successful plays. Fat chance. Texas played disciplined against a wounded O.

7. When OU still can’t get plays called and the right players on the field in a timely fashion this deep into the season something is seriously wrong on the sideline.

8. Texas was light years better than OU and they aren’t slowing down. Their recruiting is going fine so the talent level will improve as long as they don’t lose key players or key coaches.

9. OU's problem is more than just the injuries. I never had much faith in this team and predicted a 7-5 season because of youth and a lack of talent. My OU friends thought I was wrong. Now? We still have to play South Carolina on the road, Ole Miss, Alabama, Missouri and LSU. The program is in deep trouble in the Era of NIL. Not a good place to be for the Sooners. There are times I wish I haven't always been a teetotaler.

Yep just got home too. Didn't feel like hanging around Dallas today. The whole weekend was weird and just off. From the hotel to the restaraunts to the game. Just a bad weekend. The texas fans didn't even heckle us leaving the stadium. It's like they felt sorry for us which made it worse!

I hope BV left Seth in Dallas. Guy is way over his head. My local high school runs a better, more creative offense this this. Im dead serious. No creativity at all. The offense is getting worse every single game. We beat Maine and that's it. We literally cannont score. I don't see how we win another SEC game that schedule.

Congrats to texas! Looks like Sark has finally turned the corner. Texas has played the worst 2 teams in the SEC so far but we will know a lot more about them next week though Georgia is having their struggles and I'm picking texas to win that game.

Yeah it felt off because everyone knew what was going to happen... if ou were better the atmosphere would have had more excitement..

tough to get excited with a true freshman in an anemic offense

people like seeing scoring, despite all the defense wins championships talk
