2024 College Football TV Ratings

TBF CBS usually isn’t getting the top B1G game each week where as they did usually get the SEC best game.

True, but they knew that going into it.

To air sec games this year, CBS would have needed to pay north of 300 million.

Last years number is irrelevant

Maybe, if they would have renewed when they lost it, they might have been able to get it for like 250 though.

CBS was gonna have to outbid ESPN/ABC to renew that contract.
It would likely have been considerably higher than what they're paying the Big 10 now. JMO

Yes, A&M games are always on somewhere you are correct.

What I don't follow is how they aren't all competing against each other.

CBS is competing with two other broadcast networks (FOX/NBC) for Big 10 football games.

ABC isn't competing with any other broadcast networks for SEC football.

Read @ericd7633 's post again and try to comprehend it this time. It's clearly conference specific.

CBS was getting the SEC's game of the week like ABC is now.

CBS is competing with FOX/NBC for the Big 10's game of the week. Obviously since it's a round robin priority, CBS's average is gonna come down.

If people only watched their conferences then I guess you have a point.

If CBS (a broadcast network) had sole rights to the Big 10 game of the week like they did when SEC, then it's numbers would come up exponentially.

But they don't see. They're competing with FOX/NBC (broadcast networks) for that game of the week.

Obviously that's going to lower their average viewership numbers.

Huge numbers. Not sure if the 3 B1G games will even match the UGA/Texas game combined. That's crazy.

That's a lot of trailer parks.

That 10.7 million for the Alabama-Tennessee game didn't get off their ass for 7 hours.
seems like the trailer parks have terrific tastes
