2024 College Football TV Ratings

What?

There wasn't even 10 million ESPN viewers TOTAL in Week 9.

Auburn/Missouri: 2.45 million (SEC)
Oklahoma St./BYU: 1.66 million (Big 12)
Notre Dame/Ga Tech: 1.59 million (ACC)
LSU/Arkansas: 1.36 million (SEC)
FSU/Duke: 1.26 million (ACC)
TCU/Utah: 912K (Big 12)
BC/Va Tech: 712K (ACC)

Are you under the impression the SEC gets the ACC and Big 12 ESPN viewership shares?

That's a whole nother level of SEC honk right there.
I was speaking of the ESPN numbers over the period of the season not, this week. Of course I’m not counting non-SEC conferences. SMH

I'm done trying to explain the simplicity in viewership ratings to you that a 10 year old would understand.

Georgia/Texas was on ABC for a reason.
BC/Va Tech was on ESPN for a reason.

It's because Georgia/Texas was a marquee game and "Broadcast TV" gets more eyeballs. It's maximizing the number of available eyeballs. i.e. "Broadcast TV" is a free venue and therefore available to more people than ESPN.
Therefore to maximize viewership of Georgia/Texas it was put on "Broadcast TV" as opposed to ESPN.

Do I have to say "Broadcast TV" yet again?
You just insult people. You’ve not answered a single question I asked. So let me wrap this up for you. It makes no sense to eliminate ESPN numbers. If what you say about advertising rates is true I could understand discounting ESPN numbers to compare economic value. But to ignore them altogether makes no sense.

Chill foot a minute Ana you might get what I’m saying. Doubt it, but give it a shot.

The real money is in "Broadcast TV" and that's not even debatable.

The Top 6 were all "Broadcast TV".

That is likely why the Big 10 went heavily weighted on "Broadcast TV" in the new contract.

Do I need to say "Broadcast TV" again for good measure?

ESPN owns the bowl games though. That's why my cut-off will be at the end of the regular season and CCG's.
I'll be curious what numbers tnt gets for its cfp games

To be honest, I don't have time to read 3 pages of your posts.

I'm not the one that entered a conversation and started running my jaws while admitting I had no fucking clue what they're were originally talking about.

Do you do that at bars or parties too?
Are you the person that walks into a meeting half hour late and immediately starts flapping their trap?

Fuck off douchebag. I tried . You are the most disagreeable poster here. To the kiddies table, dimwit!

Evidently, it doesn’t matter. According to dimwit here, if you’re not on broadcast TV, there’s no economic value to your advertising.

"Broadcast TV"

This month was a little odd. The SEC had 4 teams with bye weeks, and then had only 3 of their 6 games on ABC or ESPN. The others were on SECN which aren't included in these numbers. That included TEX squeaking by the Vanderbilt powerhouse.

This weeks' numbers per game were the same - around 2.2M, and that's with 3 SEC games being counted v. 8 B1G games being counted. I am actually a little shocked at how much more viewership the SEC has. In 5 less games, we had close to the same viewership.
lol squeaking by? Once Texas took the lead..Vandy never had the ball to tie or take the lead for the rest of the game

We literally kicked an onside kick and were within one score. 27-24 against Vandy is the definition of squeaking by. It just means more!

It's funny, I haven't attacked you. I haven't even argued with you. I asked some simple questions so I could try and understand your position. I really don't care. We are getting paid a ton, we have way higher viewership than you do (although I don't really care and am surrpised by it).

And you act like a petualent child. Why are you so pissy and can't actually debate things without going ballistic? Serious question ... why do you feel I am threatenting you?

FWIW, neither the SECN or the BTN are included in the numbers that have listed. But to exclude ESPN seems silly to me and designed to skew your argument. Maybe you are right ... maybe broadcast TV eyeballs are more valuable. But simple math and common sense tells you they aren't 100% more valuable such that you get to totally exclude them. Find out how much more valuable OTA eyeballs are and then apply a discount to the ESPN numbers. Even if it was 50% - I am confident it isn't - that would be put the two conferences on the same level.

But chill dude ... some of us just lije discussing and debating.
You can always tell how full of shit his posts are by how quickly he goes on the offensive. In this case he is so full of shit his kids eyes are brown.

LOL @ all that SEC nut-swinging butthurt.

Nah, just BS'ing the posts that deserve it.

your entire stance here is "I'm going to ignore the channels that the SEC are on, even though we have the numbers". Then you scream broadcast TV and claim there is no debate.

Everyone will be thrilled to know that birds no longer exist because I don't count anything that exists outside my house. NO DEBATE!

So you gotta get to #7 before an ESPN game.

I didn't flip to ESPN the entire weekend and don't recall flipping there yet this season.

Broadcast TV is the $$$ with these new packages. ABC's powerful for the SEC, but FOX, CBS, NBC, combined all favor the Big 10 in viewership going forward.
Here is where the entire issue starts, the first mention of "broadcast TV"...in post 132. And we also see the reason that this toolbag doesn't want to count ESPN, because he isn't interested in it (because the little10 pussy schools aren't playing on it).

Sit and spin fucktard.

"grrrrrr hOw DaRe yOu cRiTiCiZe My SeC?"
Appeal to me being an admin, as if that has any bearing. I don't care if you criticize the SEC, but when you pretend you aren't then I'm going to call you on it. "but but der derpy BROADCAST TV NO DEBATE DERPY DERRRR"

I accept your surrender.
