2024 College Football TV Ratings

Is this the correct thread to use if I desire to discuss stuffs about Broadcast TV?

We literally kicked an onside kick and were within one score. 27-24 against Vandy is the definition of squeaking by. It just means more!
were within one score.. yet never had the ball within one score

SQUEAKING by for sure lol

Nah, I think there is a thread titled "2024 college football broadcast ratings" for that. This one is to discuss all ratings on TV, at least until the narrative goes against what certain people want to cry about. :suds:

Look, you are obviously the better team, but when Vandy is within 3 points and kicking an onside kick, that's the definition of squeaking by.

Some additional insight on the selection process. Based on prior reports, this leads me to believe that NBC had pick #3(chose Oregon vs. Ohio State). And CBS had pick #4. So CBS COULD have selected this game and instead chose, I'm assuming, USC vs. Michigan (week 4). In hindsight, looks like a terrible decision.

My guesses for the selections (remember they are selecting the specific week not actual game):

#1. Ohio State vs. Michigan (FOX)
#2. Michigan vs. Texas (FOX)
#3. Ohio State vs. Oregon (NBC)
#4. Michigan vs. USC (CBS)
#5. Penn State vs. Ohio State (FOX)
#6. Alabama vs. Wisconsin (FOX)
#7. Nebraska vs. Ohio State (FOX)

This leads me to believe IU/Ohio State could be on CBS or NBC, which would be a huge gift for those networks.

Edited that photo down a little, makes it easier to read for me and I'm sure others.

Sounds good. Don't post photos all that often, but I figured I'd catch shit if I posted the link since it's behind a paywall. Lol.

No worries, didn't want you seeing I edited it and wonder why.

When you do post a photo, after you paste it if you click the photo (before submitting it) you will get an option in the bottom right to drag and resize it. I imagine the large photos on phones is murder. :suds:

Back on topic, I wonder if the CBS dude who chose Mich v USC has been fired or is just made fun of every day when he comes to work.

What a horrible way to determine the schedule of your games. With the SEC before this year, CBS got first pick for the 3:30 game. Even that is better than this. No wonder CBS is getting shit games this year.

Yeah, I'm guessing it's broken down that Fox gets the first selection for 6 weeks, and CBS and NBC each get 4 over the course of the season since Fox pays more. If that's theory is correct, CBS and NBC should have good games left, only problem with that, is there's really one good game left (IU/OSU) after this week, that hasn't been scheduled yet.

I hope that draft order changes every year or is reset every year. Would be poor job security if CBS knew they would get only to guess at the 4th best game every year.

According to what I've read, Fox is guaranteed the first 3 selections under the current terms of this deal. This year was different because they traded the #3 pick, for, I'm guessing selections #5 and and #6.

Our scheduling this year has been fabulous. We knew about 30% of game times before the season started. They did another 40% about a third of the way in, and even the ones that they couldn't give an exact time they said either early day, mid to late day, or night. It made planning to go to games way easier. Having everything under on roof is very, very nice.

Surprised this didn't get over 10 million. Wasn't a whole lot of competition with the Noon slate.
