Diego Pavia is a baller and they've got more mojo than we've ever seen from them, even during the Franklin years. I can see Carolina coming out flat after that big win Saturday, getting behind like Bama did, and not being able to come back.

We still have the Wofford game for bowl eligibility. Vandy, Missouri, and Clemson games could all go either way. Would love the payout of a NYD bowl vs. a mid-December one.

They just struggled against a 3-6 Auburn team, they struggled with a 3-5 Ball State team, and flatout lost to 2-6 Georgia State. This is not a good team.

On the other hand, they beat Alabama, almost beat Texas, and almost beat Mizzou (not that I think they're very good). As much as I enjoy seeing Hugh Freeze lose, I feel like Auburn's been somewhat unlucky this year. The turnovers have been killer and they're 6/13 on field goals. It's not often you see a team outgaining their opponents by 2 yards per play (6.7 to 4.7) and sit at 3-6. The only game they lost by more than 10 was against UGA (31-13), and even that was a competitive game. They feel like the SEC version of Washington, only with a shittier record.

I don't think they're a particularly good team, but they're certainly not your typical Vandy team either.

Exactly, hence the trepidation. We can usually write these guys off as an easy W, even in our down years. Going to need a great effort from the defense to keep them off the scoreboard

Vandy isn't their typical horrendous self, you're right. However, this still isn't a good team. Georgia State has two wins - a shitty FCS team, and Vandy. Nobody in the top 25 should lose to a team like that, then go struggle with a perpetual loser in Ball State. They beat Bama because, frankly, the Saban years are over. They played well against Texas, but not sure you can say they "almost beat" them when it was a 10 point game with under a minute left. I'd also say the jury is still out on Texas. Auburn always has talent but they have no discipline or identity, and the QB play is below average, which is why they haven't been good since pre-Covid.

lol they didn't have the ball with the chance of tieing or taking the lead.. the two drives they scored TDs on Texas (not on a short field after a turnover) were helped on 4th down and 3rd down penalties.

They are tough/determined but as long as you don't beat yourself, you will be fine.

Vandy is an annoying gnat. They remind me of the old KSU teams. They are going to play real slow, burn the clock, try to get it into the 4Q, and hope Pavia makes a play. Their offense is created to mitigate the athletic disadvantage they have. They require you to play disciplined on defense. If you get up on them early, it’s over. You let them play their game and you will sweat in the 4Q

I'm worried about Indiana in a few weeks!

That is the perfect analogy IMHO.

SoCar is that cousin who always gets hot dates but never has a relationship because he will always screw it up sooner rather than later.

You’ve got them. If Auburn would have had half decent QB play and healthy kicker we win by 10.
