AP Poll is interesting ...

They don't "fix" the bracket. They just make the rankings. Decide #1. Decide #2. Decide #3. Decide #4. etc.
I know they say that, and I'll take them at their word. But I wish they would move things around to avoid rematches and conference teams playing each other. It would make it more interesting.

Really just depends how close the OSU game is. Blowout and they might miss it all completely.
Even with a bad loss, the committee positioned them in a good spot. The only way they MIGHT get bumped completely out is if a lot of wacky stuff happens.

The ESPN SOS is the worst to use, because they base it on their FPI. Which is pretty terrible. Look no further than Auburn being 31.

Yea ESPNs FPI has always been laughable dog shit

Auburn being #31 isnt even the worst. USC is #18, Clemson is #12, Florida #28 , Kansas #29

I would not be shocked if they left a 1 loss Indiana out for some 2 loss SEC. Anyone who thinks these people are ignoring the potential ratings for their TV partners are delusional

Would be interesting if we have a tOSU - Oregon rematch in the B1G CCG. They would be 1-2 heading in, would the loser be bumped far at all?

At that point, they both obviously get in, but having a bye week would be pretty nice.

Nah, stick to their job and make the rankings. No avoiding conference teams.

Loser will be #5 in the bracket.

It's honestly embarrassing that someone here would try to flex based on the ESPN ranking.

All depends how the OSU game goes. If its close, they're in for sure.

You grossly underestimate the power of the name on the jersey

If say 2 loss Texas/Texas A&M are up against 1 loss Indiana for one of the last spots with 2 losses, the Texas school is absolutely getting it

With these dumbass mega conference, even conference matchups will more than likely not be a rematch. I think IU playing PSU would be kinda cool since they didn't play this year, but have played every year for like the last 15 years or whatever it is.

Yep the main stupidity of these mega conferences is the hilariously unbalanced schedules.

They need to have like a unbiased schedule maker for the conferences so the conferences can't strategically make schedules to purposely try to maximize the teams they can get into the playoff.

I don't have a problem with 2 loss tOSU. 1 loss IU in is a joke and you know it.
Every year we hear these kinds of arguments. Usually the appropriate response is, "you play who's on your schedule"

One loss IU, if that loss is either Ohio State or Oregon, should be in

Well to be fair nobody expected IU to be this good. PSU played Washington, USC and Wisconsin, but they all stink this year. Oregon plays Michigan, Washington and Wisconsin, but the same issue. These made for TV matchups have largely failed because those bigger brands stink this year. It's really hard to know ahead of time that Michigan and USC are going to be as bad as they are.

I think most people outside of Michigan fans had a feeling Michigan was gonna be a mediocre 8-4 team at best, turns out they are going to be a bad 6-6 team instead.

Is USC even really a national brand? You could say they were in the Peter Carroll era but right now even if they were a 1 or 2 loss team instead of a 5 loss mess they really only have west coast appeal
