AP Poll is interesting ...

Without another loss penny State is for sure in if they win out. They may not have a ranked win but their SOS is anywhere from 30-45 depending on where you look. Indiana's is 76-100
No doubt. Not having good wins doesn't seem to matter as long as they are wins.

Add another team to the list that could have a record of 11-1/12-2 without a win over a ranked team. Mizzou!!!!!

Show me where I used the term "fix". I'll wait.

You're naive as hell if you don't think such things go on within that committee. If they have 3-4 teams that data doesn't differentiate among them, they each make the case for which order to put them in. And some committee members pull more weight among the group than others. They have to make a call and external influences can impact that decision.
No discussions about playoff matchups occur in committee.

You're dumb as hell if you think otherwise.

I don't think they would ever bump someone back a tier (from hosting to playing away) but I could certainly see them switching a 5 and 6 around if the stars aligned to avoid rematches. It definitely will not be as prevalent as it was with the 4 team playoff.

Some people give the committee way too much unearned benefit of the doubt to not be biased and manipulate seeding to get or avoid certain matchups.

They are explicitly not allowed to do so, and there's too many people in the room with competing agendas to keep a secret.

Not biased is one thing. Everyone is biased.

There's too many people in the room who don't like each other to get away with breaking the rules though.

Didn't realize there was an explicit rule in the format against. Well it shouldnt happen then

There will be nutjobs who claim that so and so was moved off of a line because of this, but it's obviously false.

There's not way you'd get this group of people to go along with screwing around with things while keeping quiet. They have to go back to their conference mates.

I didn't say a fuckin' thing about playoff matchups you ignorant bastard.
You said they might choose the home team based on size of stadium if it was close.

That's a bracket issue, not a rankings issue.

But some four have to host one. Knowing how money rules the day, if there is no separating data of 2-3 schools they’ll probably go with the largest stadium. Money grubbers.

Happens all the time in the NCAA Tournament too.
Having a no rematch rule in the first round would make it a better product.
Makes sense to me.

Sort of does but say like everything remains the same with this week's rankings but Ohio State beats Oregon in the B1G championship. Oregon is the 5 and Boise is the 12. No rematch bumps them back to 6 and now they are playing...Bama. I'd be a little pissed if I was Oregon.

The NCAA tournament allows for shuffling the bracket. The CFP explicitly does not.

Yup. Just let the bracket play out.
