I just looked at the butter in my fridge. The box has a warning that says “contains milk” right below the ingredients. The ingredients? “Pasteurized cream from milk, salt”

Seems like the ingredients list should have been a giveaway.

That’s not how it works for all allergens.

Organic wheat grass for example is gluten free and does not contain wheat.

I imagine there’s similar shit for milk/cream/dairy.

Personally, I think we should just remove the labels entirely. If you’re allergic to food, maybe we don’t need your genes polluting the gene pool.
